Just because someone talks shit in between games doesn't make them tough. It just means they can talk a big game. If you don't step up and play tough and make the plays you have to make for your team to win, then you're soft. And that's what he's done every year since 05.

Dude never plays in the post, where he could've abused almost any team, but instead faded out to the 3 point line where he's less effective. Then "paying homage" to KG, when Boston showed little respect to his teammates.

I know he's great from 3, but there's a difference in effect on a game, when you get 9 points from 3, or 9 points in the post. It makes the defense contract and allows more openings for guys like Chauncey, who need that spacing more. Otherwise defenses can load up away from the rim and clog up your offense. Also, it takes away from second chance points you could have because you'll only have one rebounder down low to secure rebounds. Not to mention it can force opposing bigs into foul trouble.

As a big, you give up so much potential offense by constantly roaming the 3 point line, when you could be in the post looking for better high percentage shots and gaps in the defense. So it's great when you make the shots, but when you miss, you can't really affect the game in any other way. It wouldn't be as big an issue if he wasn't one of the most talented mid-low post players this decade and the last, but for him to always shy away because hes afraid of the contact is soft and hurts his team

The real problem was the nature of the game. Boston is known for kind of bullying and disrespecting teams. In fact they were hard fouling the Pistons players late in the game and Pierce damn near injured Chauncey on a layup after the game was practically already decided. When a team is playing like that, you don't show them any love, especially not while the seires is still being played.
