I think world leaders nowadays are trying to present this "down to earth" image of themselves to win votes. It's horrible. We elect world leaders to be in positions which are above us average joes. We don't want someone who's just like us, because we know that we can't run a country.

I presume from your comment about Letterman being a bigger knob that you don't watch his show and hence have no understanding of his format. Letterman frequently have guests on to discuss proper issues, such as sports, politics, global warming, alternative energy etc. As such the only comparable forum in Oz TV is probably like the morning talk shows; sure they have a few laughs, but they discuss issues. Rove is pure comedy/standup. Appearing on Rove is a complete farce.
