A nice bluff, especially for 2007 or whenever this was, but actually I think most top pros today would 3bet ship this as a standard assuming they had the read that he'd check back a Q on the flop and wouldn't slowplay turn, which is how the normal person would play it, and I'm sure is the read that Ike had.

I think both players had a lot of heart. I think Ryan's check on the turn was the reason why Isaac made the re-raise all-in. Of course, there might also be the little thing he picked up on Ryan preflop... where he faked a raise and just limped in instead. I think these two clues gave Isaac enough of an idea that Ryan didn't hit a queen or an ace.

Nonetheless, I will give Ryan an A for effort because his read on Isaac was spot on on the river, too.

sick play. to be fair though, i can see ikes reasoning. dauts line made very very little sense. the only hands he can relaly raise for value once the board pairs are boats, and he almost never checks behind with two pair (i.e. Q4 AQ) on the turn.

still, knowing this and having the balls to go through with it are two different things.
