Worse than the plane : the kidastrophe on a french TGV in coach. (and now it's happening in First class too !) Especially when you're seated in a vis à vis row. They eat on you, run all over the place, cry all over the place, and there's "seatbelt on" sign or stewardess to calm them down a bit...
OMG I am 15 and many times when I have been on holiday some annoying baby is screaming for hours on end. The parents just let them do it as if everyone should have to put up with this shit. LOL and people wonder why I am not having kids :L
i remember going to D.R. and there was this annoying kid in front of me. He randomly comes out of nowhere and bangs my screen. WTF??? Im 13 and i just hate that... @MEareCAT
God, I remember I used to get fuming angry at kids on flights. Particularly screaming babies. Then I discovered the wonders of the MP3 player. It's probably saved the lives of a few babies by now..
And for those with no MP3 player, I think there should be a sound proof baby section near the front of the plane.
Finally an airline showing passengers etiquette, Delta, you lost me as a customer with the nickel and diming, but with this you might just get my business back, wish more airlines did this! Of course some dumb passengers may think this is showing the right way to behave...
Nowadays most US carriers engage in some nickel and diming - Southwest still has free checked bags and free drinks and snacks - Delta has some free snacks and free drinks
Oh, man...I totally love this video. But everyone keeps blaming the kids for what they do....IT'S NOT THEIR BLOODY FAULT. Kids will be kids!! When they're "acting up" and misbehaving, it's up to their parents to step in and correct them. A simple "No. Don't do that. It's rude" would suffice.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Well since my 20lb child paid as much for their ticket as you did then they have every right to fly. And I do everything I can to keep them entertained but seriously babies are going to cry sometimes. Newsflash we were all kids once and we acted like it. If I had any other choice but to fly I wouldn't.
I haven't been on a plane in over 10 years, but I KNOW what that is like. Try walking into any major department or grocery stores now days. You get ALL the olympics, like a ball game, bicycle race, sprint and high jump. And let's not forget even Nascar in the toy aisle. Parents should keep an eye on their kids weather in a pland, store. streets and even at home!!!
The problem is the space on airplanes -- if the seats were a normal distance from each other, kids couldn't kick the seat in front.
Furthermore, no child should ever be "unattended" on a flight -period. The kid screaming running down the aisle should be chemically sedated and physically restrained.
What about offering some solutions to these problems? Parents should teach children appropriate behavior BEFORE they take them on a plane, and they need to bring a good supply of books and other forms of QUIET entertainment. Delta's flight staff needs to intercede when they see an oblivious parent ignoring their child's disruptive behavior. Parents of infants should have their ears checked and talk to their pediatricians about avoiding ear pain during flight (leading cause of crying babies).

Why don't you make a video about all the the rude comments people make to mothers about children? Even when they are being behaved? There is a serious bias here and Delta is just perpetuating it!
Did you not watch the video? It clearly shows a parent blantantly ignoring her child's disruptive behavior. Do you think this acceptable? Chances are if someone makes a rude comment about your child, your child is doing something to deserve it.
I can understand being upset when a kid is going crazy and a parent is being inattentive, but why show the baby crying. Children, especially babies, cry and sometimes there is nothing you can do about it. What message is Delta sending, are you going to ban babies, no more children? Have you all forgotten where you came from? No child can be well behaved 100% of the time especially in a confined space where they aren't allowed to get up or move around. Come on Delta, have some compassion!
kids are kids. BUT: My parents educated me and took care I would not bother others. it's a parent job - if you can't kids just don't get some. babies do cry - but only if they have needs...older kids can should be controlled by their parents.
kids fly not often - parents might think kids don't disturb -- me 150/year and yes, they do.
BUT: some can handle their kids, keep babies from crying. It is doable.
If you can't handle kids, stay of the plane. or bring valium. not for me. for your kids.
Yeah kids can be a pain and you can't expect them to act like adults, especially since most adults don't act like adults, but there is a line. If a kid is being wiggly and bumps my seat fine. If the kid is deliberately booting the back of my seat not fine. If a kid is looking at me, whatever, but if they cough, sneeze, spit or stare at me the whole flight, give me an f-ing break! Parents don't have to be on the kids constantly, but they do need to do something.
I guess everyone likes a parent who keeps her kids under control, but have you realized that you once were a kid yourself??? it's really sad when people forget that
If I had ever acted like some of the kids on planes I fly, my parents would have read me the riot act, and trust me, I would have calmed down. Too many parents today just don't care. They let their kids run wild & the rest of us have to put up with their disrespect.
Some people get nervous around crying babies but it wasn't the baby's fault. It just made it worse since the older children were running wild and their parents weren't paying much attention. My mom always made sure my sister and I behaved on the plane and she got so many compliments from people for keeping us under control.
yeah.. the mom ignoring her kid and the one running down the aisle were the only ones that I thought was justified. Maybe I'm not a tight ass like some on here.. but the kids smiling and baby crying don't bother me. I don't expect kids to act like adults as soon as they set foot on a flight. Instead of aiming this at parents they should make one that aims towards jerks who get all pissy when a kids get antsy on a flight.
People wouldn't be all pissy if the parents would teach their little darlings some discipline in the first place. My kids have flown since they were babies. I would NEVER let them act up. It's easy to have good kids if you teach them respect.
Amen! We always traveled with "goodie bags"... books, coloring books, travel games, snacks, etc. It's not hard to teach your kid to be a considerate traveler. Unfortunately, too many parents today just don't care.
I'm with cajuboy. This is cute and all, but it really just tells us that Delta expects us to just accept that we're supposed to be herded like cattle. The airline industry has been heavily rewarding their CEO's and high-level execs, all while screwing over their workers and passengers.
Delta is trying to remind people what exactly is going on that they cannot control. Parents get pissy when you tell them to control their child or if you ask the child to calm down for some reason. They're trying to remind people in this video are to pay attention to the kids and make sure they are behaving. The crew isn't going to do everything for you. And neither can delta! If a baby is crying, are they going to land the plane, kick off the kids, then take off again?
-Delta doesn't have seat with enough armrest space
-Delta doesn't do enough to smooth over potentially rough passenger predicaments
Delta is using humor to manipulate passengers into settling for less. If they really wanted to improve service, they should use the money they paid this advertising firm to invest in their planes and onboard service!
Every child boarding should be given a dose of NyQuil at boarding. A good shot of what comedian George Lopez calls "Good night juice" will make air travel markedly quieter.
You may say that but if you were asked to drug your child i bet you would have a whole different view, now i do think seperate flights restricted to pasengers ages 10 and above could be a nice possibility but your solution is not a solution at all
Did you see how the guy with the coffee looked at the parent, doing nothing? That's really who this short is aimed at: parents, keep your little monsters under control. If you can't, don't bring them on the plane.
