Unless the dub REALLY stinks, when an anime takes place in America or Britin I will usually prefere dubs because it fits better and you get the feel of the real story. Or if accents are involved I can't hear them in Japanese quite as well, especially for anime's like Hetalia, Black Butler, and Baccano. And then there are exceptional anime's I like to watch in Dub that don't take place in Western settings like OuranHSHC.
@adamisajoker both of their voices in Durarara! was a pain, I loved that they made an appearance but the voice actors left a really bad taste in my mouth
Yeah, this is one of the few times I really prefer the English voices over the japanese voices. This DOES take place in America afterall, so it only makes sense that the accents are authentic. You just can't get that in japanese.
i am a massive dub fan. i watch all my anime in dubs and h8 most of the english versions. BUT THIS SHOW HAS TO BE WATCHED DUBBED!!!! it is just so much better and makes sense.
I watched Baccano in english so i'm used to their voices and perfer them and I just think its cool with their new york italian accents and all, thnx for posting its hard to find Baccano clips
@qaiex Thats just a mean thing to say, no matter what you're saying it about! But honestly, that debate between dubs and subs doesn't matter so much, because its a personal preference about which version you like better. And the English dubbing companies are by no means trying to do better than the Japanese; they are trying to bring good shows to a larger audience. So there's no "better" or "worse" versions, just different ones.
@42pieplusfish you have to put it in a proper context though. For this anime, upon first conception, was one about american life in 1930's: a time period that americans would understand more than anyone else. The english was better IMO, because the VA's could relate to the characters. the sub was about japanese trying to act american, while the dub intrinsically knew how that was, and how to be. It's like sub vs dub on ruroni kenshin. no one thought dub was bad, but sub felt more relatable.
@bobo754: That's your opinion. Personally I find the Japanese version the best, it made me LOL the most. While this made me just look at it once and disregard it. :) Though it is a good scene, even if it's dubbed. ^^
But of course friend! I fell in love with this scene from the first time I saw it. I was pissed they didn't have it dubbed.. So I decided people needed to hear this dubbed.
@ljz1988 Any chance you could upload the fight between Firo and Dallas's thugs? Someone did have the dub of the scene up at one stage, but it seems he's closed his account since then.
Lets get serious: You would watch a spinoff show called "Isaac and Miria's Excellent Adventures". You would watch the shit out of it.

With regards to enf dub.
Ok I like anime with Japanese voice actors.
Usually they sound better.
But this has new Yorkers and the english voice actors did very well with a new York accent.
I'm glad I watched this.

@BlueRoses143 Agreed. Their voices are just more eccentric and funny.

I watched this English dubbed but I can imagine the original being better, because the fake accents in the English dub were very obvious.
