@Lester1Beck I was JUST going to ask what kind of archtop guitar that Maybelle was playing! THANK YOU! A friend just bought a 1954 D50 in fairly decent shape

If there is a Heaven, Jimi Hendrix, Randy Rhodes, John Denver, Dimebag Darrell and many others are patiently taking lessons from Momma Myabelle who took the guitar from a rhythm instrument and almost single-handily invented Lead Guitar
It was called by Johnny "The Carter Scratch!" due to the auto-harp like down stroke with the middle, ring, and little fingers. I truly can't wait until I reach my heavenly home and listen to these great artist again.
southrules, I so agree with you. What a nice family man he was. I have became so fond of this original American culture, this folk music. It is so nice to see and hear Sara and Maybelle singing and playing too, and A.P. Carter was a great songwriter
I think it was a beautiful thing how the Carters accepted Johnny as family.

I got confused when I watched this the first time and thought I saw 8 tuning pegs instead of 6.
