you were "wiggling around alot" because you aren't doing the full exercise. You are letting yourself fall down, slowly lower yourself and youll build more muscle and that wont happen.
Yeah, I think in the second clip you can see I improved, but still need to improve a lot more of course. Over these last two months I didn't really exercise at all so I need to get back into it.
@AlexanderArts yeah it definitely improved. I know it sucks tho, its just as easy as with pushups to just fall down and catch yourself at the end but that reversal is actually the part that can build the most muscle. glad to see you are pretty casual about it but still put in the effort to get things done the right way XD
14 chin ups and like 10 or 11 pull ups. is being at 155 and 5'7 overweight? i started bodybuilding and my muscle gave me like 9 pounds so i think im doing good for my weight
Chin-ups = narrow grip with palms facing to your direction, emphasis on biceps
Pull-ups = wide grip with palms facing away from your direction, emphasis on lats (latissimus dorsi)
Right now I can do only 10 chins and 7 pulls, but they're getting better.
Oh, and if you're interested in getting in shape, read this guide; It teaches all the basics regarding right nutrition and exercise in detail, and it has helped me tremendously:
Oh ok. Yeah I got it backwards, oh well. I guess I am about the same as you. I just excercise to keep from getting fat, not really serious about it, haha!
Yeah, that's one of the reasons for me too. But I do full body workout 3x a week so I'm kind of more serious about it, building muscle has it's pros because I can eat lots of food without gaining any fat (or very little, I just have to throw in enough cardio)
But yeah, running alone is a great activity, it basically makes everything better (mood, body, health etc.)
Last time i did pull ups was maybe 2 months for some fitness test and i was able to do about 24. Then again i wasn't hanging like you were. If i was i probably only would have done about 13.
Nice, the less swingy one looks like you're doing it more properly. When I miscount a rep, I always do an extra one or two, kind of as a penalty for forgetting and also to make up for if I really did miss one. I don't do pull-ups, so I couldn't tell you how many, but I do alot of bench presses... and I can do 100 lbs to 10 or 11 reps so far. I start with that then strip the weights until my muscles start to fail at about 12 sets.
Well that's my warm up set. Then I do my real work out of 600 one armed pull-ups with 250lb weight on each foot. After about 30 minutes of that, I usually get bored and go home.
24...on a good day
