  • There is definitely some missing info on what the disease is all about. ie: different types of diabetes.

    Food is not restricted the way it is presented here.

    At least is brings some awareness to diabetes, good work kids

  • Claymation is stop-action not stop-motion. for example you record for 1 sec stop move clay rec 1 sec stop so on so fourth, that is stop motion manually you just use the camera setting which makes it look terrible

  • Nice job kids. The clay figures were cute. The message is important, and you should be commended for trying to inform people.  Keep doing things like this! Try to set the camera down on a solid surface, or borrow a tripod to hold the camera. Then make the figures move more (stop-action), and make the camera move less. Just a tip, but keep it up!

  • ok, fair enough, basicly, the part about "no more ice cream or desert stuff, diabetics can still eat anything, they just have to take insulin for it, and you dont just check your sugar once, unfortunatly, you have to check several times a day.

  • KissRocks, isn't there something to moderating your blood sugar intake by adjusting your diet? I am not diabetic (fortunately), though I am at risk for it. The people I know who are diabetic attempt to control their blood sugar intake by cutting back on sweets, cutting back on refined foods, and when they get the urge, they try to choose the sugar-free sweet. How long have you had diabetes, if you don't mind me asking?

  • ask all you want =), there are basicly 3 kinds of diabetes, type 1 which I have, also known as juvinal diabetes, it is extremely rare to get it over 30 years old, type 2, which is what your talking about, generaly it happens to overweight people, and it can go away with good diet, (type 1 never goes away) and another type, which only women can get while pregnant, it goes away after childbirth. I am 15 years old and have had it for about 6 and a half years.

  • I don't have to check my blood-suger several times a day, some might want to do it, but it's not lethal if you do it. I check my blood sugar max two times a day, some days I don't check at all, but it doesn't kill me because of it.

  • Also, you forgot to mention that you have to check your blood sugar many times a day and take multiple shots of insulin every day, or you die. please dont mislead people on this, I know your intentions are good, but please get your facts straight before saying something.

  • OK. get your facts right before you saying something, diabetes doesnt happen because you have too much sugar. it happens when your immune system attacks the beta cells in your pancreas. There is nothing you can to do help prevent it. it is pure luck. also, diabetics can eat anyting they want, they just have to take insulin for it.. which you completey FORGOT to mention... and in type 1 diabetes (which your talking about) insulin is never rejected. you just need to adjust the amount you take.
