"On Her Majesty's Secret Service" is one of my top 10 Bond songs. Think I rated it number four. "Goldfinger", "Licence to Kill" and "Thunderball" were ahead of it. Barry wrote most of them.
This music's been haunting me for years and I had a mental block on its being from Midnight Cowboy because I kept thinking the theme song was Everybody's Talkin'. That fact sort of blocked my memory and I couldn't find this. It's so damn good. Thank you so much for sharing.
thank you Kelly , 69 was a great year and the end to what was an incredible decade ,John Barry will be greatly missed but his music will keep his name alive for ever..............:)
Kelly - thanks for the great sound on this, WAY better than all other versions. I made this my feature in tribute to John Barry this week & sent a bulletin about it to my 1500 subscribers. Appreciate your musical contributions to youtube ! ! ! You & others have helped me assemble a library of over 600 playlists that cover a century of worldwide music. chuck
oh, btw: it's a great song, but i have to stop it after some seconds: it's so melancholic & dangerous music for the current state I'm in ;)
And the movie was AWESOME

@SillyWillyFan47 I meant OHMSS as a slowed down version. But to be honest, you're correct about You Only Live Twice. Both descend.

I understand John Barry wrote this; who played the harmonica--anybody know?
PokeyGreen 1 year ago
@PokeyGreen The one playing harmonica on the soundtrack is Toots Thielemans. There are many recordings of his to be found on youtube. Enjoy!
