I babysit my youngest cousin, I once had my 3 YR old when he was 1 yrs old and he had to sleep overnight. He woke up in the middle of the night and went downstairs outside. I'm a heavy sleeper so I didn't hear him. But thank fucking god he wasn't kidnapped or ran away. His mom came back home and he was outside. He knows how to unlock doors so that was bad but I wish I had those doorknob think they have on doors for kids!

.. I wish people would stop saying infants can only see objects 8-15 inches away, seriously. Go do some research; that thought has been debunked after years of studies. Infants can see everything we can; they just can't pick and choose what to focus on.
