  • Nice video. I'm going next month. To see this amazing place

  • Nice!! Just curious, but what software did you use to to put all the videos together?

  • @pri83ansi Most of the vids were edited using Sony Vegas. Thanks for watching.

  • Fantastic video!

  • Love the vid! Thanks for sharing!

  • Hey nice video! What type of SDHC card are you using specifcally what class? I am running a Sandisk 8 gb class 2 card and was wondering if I am loosing any capabilities while shooting video in HD. Is my class 2 card sufficient for the DMC TS1 Camera?

  • I used a transcend 16GB class 6.

The class 2 will be questionable. I would upgrade if you got the cash.

  • I live here in AZ, and you make the Grand Canyon look alot more exciting then i remember! Good job!

  • Hey thanks!

  • that is a bit nutty standing on a rim, i seen phantom winds funnel up out of nowhere and carry my hat away, when i used to be a cowhand

  • Nicely done Sir!

  • Thanks for watching.

  • Are they mad? (0:56)

They stood on a 4,000-feet-high crag without any safety gadgets?

  • @tomeetu I always say, "to each their own" .... but it gave me the whillies as well. Whew!

  • I love these HD vids. The old non-HD vids look so terrible now.

  • Yeah, HD is the only way to go!

  • Thanks for posting this! This is definitely one of the better quality video examples I've seen from this camera.

I noticed that in some shots the video was a little jerky (possibly from the YT playback?) are you experiencing the same when watching it locally?

Does the OIS work in video mode?

And what's your experience with the battery life?

  • It seems to play silky smooth locally and on youtube for me.

OIS does work during video capture. And so does the optical zoom! The battery life is surprisingly really good! I've never had to switch batteries on a day trip.

One thing to note is that my camera and water really didnt get along. It pretty much failed to operate properly after taking it in the ocean. Luckily, after a week of drying it works 100% again.

    Thanks for watching.

  • Thanks for the fast reply.

How long have you owned the camera for and do you know how the water got in? Was it possibly through one of the seals for the battery or video out compartments?

I ordered one today and it should be here before the weekend.

  • I had the camera for about 1 month and a half before water got in it. I kept it in prestine condition and checked the seals before taking it in the water.

But still, water somehow got in.

Disappointing, but I still love the camera. Luckily for me, I'm a land lover! I still wouldnt hesitate to take to get it wet, but now have second thoughts about completely submerging it in water.

  • thanks for the video..im sold on this thing I was thinking of the sanyo HD1000 but im going to take more pics and i love that this lil guy is pretty durable.

  • Hello. One thing that I recently found out was that it's waterproof feature is pretty questionable.

I took it in the ocean and the seals failed. I babied the thing and somehow water got in it. It acted up for about a week before it fully dried out. It's working 100% again, but I won't be taking it in the ocean again anytime soon.

Just thought I'd let you know. Good luck!

  • Very cool of you to comment. Im kinda a puss so I'll get one of those camera covers for the agua. I just like the durability of it comparatively. Take care. I'll pose some vids once I get this thing. THX

  • and the editing software?

  • Vegas Pro 8.0c

  • Can you talk about whether you like your camera (& why)? In most of the stuff I've seen, it's a great camera. I want: a pocketable camera, that shoots HD video (and zooms during video!), that takes nice photos. Underwater is a feature I like, because I feel like these pocket digicams get obsolete after only a few years. But... a waterproof camera will always be a useful gadget IMO.

Anyways, just talk about your camera and what you like/don't like about it. It'd be appreciated!

  • i sent your a PM. My response was too lengthy I guess.

  • hi backhandfloater!

I would be very thankful, if you could forward me your response to JohnLeeMDs comment, as I'm in the process of decision wheter to buy this camera or not.

since you mentioned, that you didn't use a tripod, have you heard of the gorillapods? what do you think about them? they're so flexible, though obviously won't reach the height of a standard, professional tripod.

thanks for your response, keep up the good work!

  • I have a couple of gorilla pods (slr version). They work ok, but are really susceptible to wind. The're a great tool if you work within it's limits.

I'll forward you the response to John.

One additional note is that I brought it into the ocean recently. I babied the thing and water still got in it. It was acting pretty crazy for a while, but now seems to be normal.

  • Who're the crackpots on the tabletop ledge? Is that stupid or what? I'd report them.

  • I take it your scared of heights? If your not, It's really not that big of a deal.

I'm not really a tattle tail either.

  • awesome video and crazy quality for this camera, just ordered one, gonna try it out in alaska in a couple days
