Uh... I am a maxed ranged tank, 80 attack, 80 strength, 99 def, 99 range, 95 mage, 77 prayer and 92 summoning. For a range tank your better off with getting the augary and rigour prayers, trust me they out beat leach curses. And if your worried about soul split this is were the rapid renewal prayer beats soul split. I got 93 dungeoneering, use dungeoneering to your advantages with a range tank.

Yeah they're not hard if you fail; most range tanks are around 90-100combat alot of people with those lvls have turmoil e.t.c so if you're 70str 75attack you're going to get bossed by a turm.

@Daralascan yes for tanking to get defence it is well worth it, some people say they have bad luck with it but i seem to hit all the time with mine and heal very well, if you are going to afk bandits just wear full guth, any cape you want (fire cape works well) and have a saradomin arrow equipped. take some super sets and you will lvl very quick very easily.

@TheSkaterk1d no problem. my friend has a range "tank"(42 def for void) with 99 range and 77 prayer for rigour. and i will tell you, with his d bow specs he can pretty much 2 hit someone without really having to get their hp down with a c bow. he can hit consecutive 490/500 with its specs, and an average 300-450 without the spec, with dragon and god arrows of course. pretty sweet gig if you ask me. thats with void as well, so thats why it hits so high

I was just wondering one small thing, these days a zammy book is 20m+ and a guthix book is waaaaay less. I know pretty much any other book is out of the question so is the zammy book really worth all those millions when you're starting out on a new account? I mean, I think guthix should be fine cuz it still gives offensive bonuses but you get defense, which is good because you're a tank.

@XMOTALEXMOTX It's probably not a good idea, I'm not saying it would be terrible but you would be a melee based tank so technically you wouldn't be one, If you are going to go for a tank you may aswell get 78 strength too since your already melee based and surprise people with a korasi, if they think your a range tank it could work out really well ;), good luck.
