when the tipper comes down does the operater make it jump really quick to pop the cart off the tipper or does it do that automatically? best seen around 6:03
No, it doesn't do that automatically. You just flick the lever really quick and it does that. Reason being, some carts, especially gayrigs, like to fall backwards when being set back down on the ground. When you pop the cart off the lifter like so, it sets them down evenly on the ground and they don't fall backwards then. It is a good technique!
You know me too well mcb. One of my favorite trucks. Labrie must have made a few different hopper configurations. We have 3 different configs throughout our fleet and this Veolia truck has a different set-up too. Very weird
oh yes their presence grew immensely over the past 5 or so years. They actually used to have contract with city of rhinelander but now northern waste has it. never seen them around. LB used to serve a lot around Rhinelander for years. I always like seeing the white and red trucks. Green is just too common.
Northern Waste huh? I've never heard of them...what do their trucks look like? Do they use fully automated or semi-automated collection equipment? I agree with the unique LB white/red color combo.
I could not answer that. The carts that I've seen are all cascade carts but I have honestly never seen one of their trucks. i'm rarely in town anyways when up there, and being in school now makes it even harder to get up there. i rarely see garbage trucks up there unless its a monday and im up since thats when they pickup for us.
There are many different carts, and most were acquired by Veolia. They bought LB Trucking, Deluxe Disposal, and Superior Services. There are also the "Onyx" carts, which is the named Veolia used to operate under.

*cough* open the lids *cough*

@laserkeyboard Surprisingly, when dumping on the 40 side, it works better when the lids are closed...it eliminates cross-contamination.

I'm glad you liked! Part 2 is upcoming! Yeah I didn't know there were so many different configs...I wonder if there is one that seems to "work best"?

I would pay to get my hands on an LB cart. We used to have one at our cabin until it was replaced with a veolia cart.

Where is your cabin located?

rhinelander.

I haven't been there in a long time. Last time I was there I remember a strong Waste Management presence.

Ah I see...well that is okay. If you ever get a chance to see them, let me know what they are like!

Wish we had those for commercial here, great vid! We only have RLs doing our commercial for paper and Sideloaders like these for bottles.
r6man2 3 years ago
yeah, i think these work the best for commercial pickups with carts.

Nice stuff!! Are you able to tip a cart into the other compartment? Looks blocked off - a flap or something it it?
MitchellM15 3 years ago
yes, the chute moves. in the 2nd part of this video, you will be able to see carts being dumped into the far compartment.
