Wonderful idea. So, you don't have to worry about the grass underneath? I see you didn't dig it up or rotate it. Also, what do you suggest to keep the squirrels and birds away?

Your 4x4's are pressure treated! Use cedar instead!!!

That is very cool. I am going to use a similar plan to build a giant sandbox this summer.
I have a whole long strip in front of my house that is bare and gets full sun every morning so I might put some garden boxes there or maybe just one long one.
The littlest girl in the pink shirt at the end is totally the most adorable. =) 'Yay farmers!" *laughs*
