  • Hi, Nina! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I am so inspired by your way of playing and teaching that I actually took a formal training in flute playing. Your videos are a great help, thank you very much!

  • oh my god! nina you are a miracle worker. you're teaching videos are the best. I love playing flute, and now cause of you i got first chair. You are THE BEST.

  • Dear julyanation20:

    Good job!

  • i am absolutely addicted to the way you play !

and i don't know why !!! i mean.. it's so obvious that you play just wonderful.. but there is something else about it.. i don't know what's that... it's like.. your music has a color.. and smell.. it's just ... just something new.. some new env... takes a while to get in to it...but once you get in to that world.. it's just.. amazing..

  • MoElyassi: Thanks for your kind comments and I am so pleased to know you are enjoying my music.

  • Hi Nina

Congratulations on your videos. I am a beginner and unfortunately at the moment I cannot have a real teacher so I seek for advice on Internet. I would be greatful if you could help me with a little problem I am having now. Should I use different fingerings for F# / Gb and A# / Bb when I play their correspondent scales?

  • You are a very noble woman and excellent musician, I have adopted your theory about the flute being lower on the china dn have found wonderful results =]

  • Nina, Thank you so much for these video lessons. I've been teaching myself flute from books and the internet for a couple years now. It's just so cool that people like you are generous enough to share what they know.

  • Also, as a singer and a professional artist (painter/illustrator), I heartily agree with your philosophy that the end result and what looks/sounds good to each artist are what's important, regardless of what some may say is correct or incorrect.

  • This is great ! I love the new flute community on YouTube !! Great Playing Nina !! I love your videos. :-) - Ryan

  • Q niña tan guapa!! do you have e-mail?? please write me you are beatuful...

  • I like all your videos, I agree with your teaching methods and flute information. Please keep the videos comming! I learn so much. My tone has improved a great deal since i watched your sound production video! I really appreciate your help, and your sharing! Smiles!

  • These are some good just musical morals in general. Thanks for this mind opening "vlog." Cause this can apply to any instrument!

  • Yes. Einstein's Theory of Relativity for music: E=Fb :-)

Nina: Thank you so much for taking the time to share your knowledge and experience to help us become better flutists. I've watched all of your videos and they are absolutely wonderful and extremely helpful.

  • hahaha i have soo many bad habits

  • and in addition, I forgot, there are really bad ways to play the flute, I have seen and heard a lot. Please do not say "all is right if you (think you) like it", this is only true if you have reached a certain standard - but who should define this???? The private teacher? you? me? fluteloophost? hahahahaha

  • Hi Nina, sounds like the theory of relativity for the flute ;-)

I did enjoy flute playing for ever, when I did it.

But - to try new thins or old things from a new point of view - why not? And you helped me with that.

Okay - but - my flute always sounds like my flute - and this is not bad at all ;-)

  • Many Thanks Nina.

"..open ear and heart..." as you say

    practice and enjoy.

  • Hi, I think you should post your videos on your Myspace site! they are really helpful!!!

  • Yeah, thank you, I'll aply that to singing and instruments =) I'll just open my ears

  • Excellent video! I don't play the flute but some of what you said can be applied to life in general. Thanks for putting your music and helpful instruction on YouTube!

  • Yes - you are right. But this is all relative, all relative, hahahaha.

And I like strong opinions on flute playing from a personal perspective, and that is what you get from Nina Perlove, if you like it; and that is great!

Same thing with James Galway! Great too! Everyone can decide what he likes. I like more perspectives.
