  • I believe through some astonishing research that the global ‘Progressives” were politically involved using out door DDT reports for the U.S. ban. Yes, I know one of the head out-door watershed scientist-whose out-door report was used in the ban. Huh? Go figure-I personally know both sides of the equation...

  • (i) Listen a little closer to the words of both Dr. Roberts & the script. (ii) Dr. Roberts lecture simply uses the 1972, U.S. ban, as an historical benchmark. “I” have a slightly different viewpoint of the 1972-ban.

  • I will assume you are of ‘equal’ field knowledge in “Africa”, as me. (OR) Alternatively, you might work for a chemical company, which produces an irritant-or killing agent or a DDT knock off. There is ‘NO’ patent rights to produce DDT that I can establish? i.e. which means, a two fold issue of ‘why’ a person or entity with an interest in another formula has issue with DDT production, and folds with populationest groups preventing its use.

  • (iii) My research indicates an obvious (“defined”) 1972 benchmark in ‘global’ health organizations supporting ‘drug’ use verses global interior wall spraying. The U.S. ban unquestionably influences heads of medical administration in Africa to females in the most remote parts of the world, which you might never have a clue existed-to this very day! (iv) The successful use of DDT is well documented, but Roberts is all for ‘numerous’ types of approved wall spraying insecticides?

  • (v) THE BIG DEAL on DDT is it is the most logical for long-range “production cost” over time, which is “KEY” in poor African Countries. (vi) DDT in Africa represents all types of insecticides, and or DAWA. Like the Coca-Cola, formula does for many common pop manufactures! Nevertheless, I suppose the Coca-Cola formula is old too.

  • (vii) A five-minute film cannot describe the “flip-flopping” of global world (since 1972) health organizations recommendation of spraying or not. i.e. Please, I am only thinking long term & opposing people=place or things will continually use the U.S. ban in controlling Africa’s mortality rates.

  • It's old that's why. Don Roberts would know..

I work for a large US-based NGO that receives money from USAID TO WORK with African governments and we help them indoor spray in 17 countries.

Furthermore, DDT is not the only way to do it In fact in many places there is resistance to DDT. There are plenty of other insecticides in four general chemical categories, NOT including organochlorines (to which DDT belongs) which work very nicely. Again it all depends on the susceptibility of the species

  • @barmak9 DDT REPELS mosquitoes. This is its MAIN effect. So it does not make a lot of difference if mosquitoes are resistant to it or not. Mosquitoes do not go into a house sprayed with DDT.

  • Indoor spraying was never banned. It is one of the main methods in use today. Even that Dr being interviewed is talking about spraying the interior walls of homes. So why is this video trying to pretend that there is a ban?

  • One man, Jim Humble, is on a mission to eradicate malaria. Check out how he discovered a cure on his website.
