Range doesn't make you a good singer Look at Katy Perry she got decent range, but girl sucks at singing live and has no control. Today always seems to have technical issues with the sound equipment the Tyra performance has better sound. I am a beyonce fan and i actuallly think this is a brilliant performance, she is one of the only singers out there that comes close to beyonce! Although, i do agree that beyonce's name does not belong here because this is a brandy performance in its own right!

Brandy's comeback is an inspiration, iheard her songs in the past and was so so but now shes huge to me and with her follow up story the car crash and having her daughter you can really hear that change in her voice. Wether she sold b=more albums than rihanna her songs has more meaning and still inspiring and shes more vocal than her counterpart Rihanna and other up comings , thanks

And to everyone defending Brandy, at least yall know the truth. Brandy is not a lip singer, and she did absolutely great on every single performace of Right Here (Departed).
Brandy doesn't get enough credit from the "elite", but as long as her fans support her, she'll be fine. The real talents often don't get the credit they deserve. It's really sad too.

Food for thought. Lets throw a bone to those who feel like Brandy lips sings live. Some say she sounds the same everytime,but shouldn't she be consistent? If she is not singing it, then who is? If she is not doing the vocal runs, then who is? A Brandy "sound alike" lmao. Even if she recorded a live version and threw that joint on to perform with, it still sounds GREAT! I can tell AriesSunfire, that you're not a fan of Brandy lol, but i think that Brandy has risen to become a MUCH BETTER artist than Monica. I like Monica. She has an amazing talent, but she is not an artist. Monica is a singer who needs people to create for her. Brandy isn't gonna yell and call it singing like so many other "R&B" "artists" if they can't find the note they scream and yell. Brandy's voice is ALWAYS under control and is ALWAYS beautiful. A loud voice doesn't mean singing.

Saying that Brandy can't sing is like saying Whitney Houston can't hit high notes. And Brandy does have a strong head voice, stronger than most in fact. Range doesn't make you a good singer Look at Katy Perry she got decent range, but girl sucks at singing live and has no control. Where Brandy got really good control and her tone beats lots of new comtemperary artist out there, and shes a Contralto even if she doesnt got a high register, her lower register is amazing not to mention her falsetto and headvoice is very good.

Brandy has a beautiful voice the power is in the control, emotion and quality of tone not to mention she sings in tune! Today always seems to have technical issues with the sound equipment the Tyra performance has better sound. The great Billy Holiday sang most of her songs in a one octave range it's not about screamin all the time. Go Brandy!

I agree...Brandy has a beautiful voice. I love it. I love voices with texture and flaws...voices like Jazmine Sullivan, Fantasia, or Kim Burrell...or BRANDY...what these ARTISTS do with their voices is amazing despite not having what most critics would consider a "good" voice. I can listen to Brandy all day.
