Campaigning politicians like to fight. They like to point out problems, criticize, shake their fingers, and promise to take down this or that "enemy" of the American people. It feels like a Roman coliseum sometimes. That's entertainment.
Why not talk about heroes instead of problems? Why can't they point out solutions instead, as the philanthropists Warren Buffett and Bill and Melinda Gates have?
Why can't they hopefully say Yes We Can by pointing at these 3, and saying, "See? They are heroes."
He's not qualified and I don't believe for one second when a politician says "it's personal", not political. I'd vote for Dick Cheney (and I hate Dick Cheney) before I'd vote for this guy.
Sure, he seems like a nice guy. But he has basically the same ideology as all the other politicians "left" and "right" and will bring us more of the same. You won't find any new answers in populace politics.
My first thoughts on Obama concerned his lack of experience in politics. Then I got to thinking of how Nixon was Vice-President a mere 6 yrs. after entering politics and Kennedy was elected President after only 14 years. I'm not comparing the three in any other way. To me personally, the inexperience issue is now laid to rest.
You can see him trying to rise above the inanity of politics. Good luck to him with that. The American people, and hence the media, aren't always interested in the issues and often enjoy political conflict. He has a long way to go before elections.
We have to get Obama elected. He's the only one who's demonstrated any capacity to be a decent human being unswayed and unimpressed by petty politics. That's what we need, not a smooth talker (although he is extremely intelligent and well spoken), but a person of integrity and focussed goals.

Are you out of your mind? Look, he's a great looking guy and kind of a rockstar figure, but honestly, smart? Ha, our president has more intelligent than him. Obama's just a blind follower of the popularity and no mind of his own (aka Democrat). Can't you people see through him! He's like a rockstar to these blind followers...
Yeh, problem is he supports all stem cell research. Almost everyone likes stem cell research... But, Embryonic is what some people have a problem with. Embryonic research involves growing a woman's egg in a dish in a science lab. Plus, embryonic has brought what? 0 that's right 0 cures for any diseases. Most everybody loves Adult stem cell though.
What has this guy done to be qualified to be president? What legislation has he written? How many republican candidates has CBS provided Youtube video of?
Here's what is good - if the American electorate had any brains (and I am not confident about that) - HE SAID: who cares about the pretty political exchange what matters is that Blair is pulling troops out of Iraq and that health care costs are projected to be astronomical.
Obama has spoken at these types of events for as long as people have been inviting him. It is no doubt very personal to him. He'd be tending someone's field if it wasn't for the civil rights fight. Or more precisely, he wouldn't exist.

It would be very unnatural for him to step into the VP slot after eight years as president (isn't that illegal?)
