Please try again when you are connected. If it continues, call customer care." how can i turn on the WiFi from here?what is my next step?

by the way, i'm here in the Philippines and i'm using a local SIM card.

  • @demonikodemoniko You need to go back to the screen that says "Touch the Android to Begin". Then you need to tap each of the 4 corners of that screen. Start with the upper left, and go clockwise. This will take you to the home screen where you'll be able to go to settings to turn on WiFi. After that, you can then go to Account under settings to sign into your Google account. I hope that helps.

  • @razgriz94 i already did what you told me but nothing happens. i think it didn't worked out for the T-Mobile. anyway, thank you very much for the concern I truly appreciate it. Do you have another techniques?

  • After I rebooted my G1, when I turn it on, how come I don't have the word ANDROID with the green flashing android robot. I just have the word ANDROID and that's all. Also, I need help because after since I rebooted it, I can't login to my gmail account anymore. It just keeps on saying there's no reliable network so it won't work. A little help here please!?!

  • @xpressmusix95 You won't have the green flashing Android when you boot up. You are running a newer version of Android, and they have changed the boot animation. The green guy i from version 1 of Android, and I assume you have 1.6 now.

As for your inability to login, I'm sorry, I'm not really sure what the problem is. Do you have a data plan (I'm sure you do, just checking)? And when you say you "rebooted", do you mean you reset your phone back to factory settings?

  • @razgriz94 Well I did the hard reset.

  • @xpressmusix95 Okay, so then you are stuck at the first setup then, right? You can bypass that, and get to your homescreen so you can turn on WiFi to ensure you get a "reliable network". At the screen that says "Touch the Android to Begin" touch the screen in each of the corners, starting with the top left, and going clockwise.

  • how do i use otimun email with this

  • Im feelin the ps3 camera . But is there anyway u can sign in without the data plan

  • I'm stuck on the part where it says 'can't connect to google' plz help.

  • i have a g1 but i dont have internet on my sim so how can i sign in into my gmail account help plz

  • i got same problem...

  • get a data plan in your t-mobile sim

  • Comment removed

  • Sorry, but to sign into your phone, you're gonna need a data plan. Unless you can find a friend with a data plan, you can use his SIM to login to Google, and then switch back to your SIM and just use WiFi for the internet. But really the phone isn't much good without a data plan.

  • @razgriz94 If I used my mom's SIM card to log into my gmail, and get messaging and Wi-Fi, Would messaging be free for? Would they charge my mom? Please answer soon!

  • @abduleaddy YOU CAN CONNECT YOU G1 WITH A NEW COMPANY CALLED SIMPLE MOBILE ITS THE SAME NETWORK AS T MOBILE AND FOR 60 DOLLERZ YOU CANGET TAL TEXT WEB AND

  • can you sign into the phone using another gmail account? i bought my phone used and want to register it on "my" gmail account.

  • Yes, you can, but you'll have to do a reset. Settings -> SD Card & Phone Storage -> Factory Data Reset. That should do the trick.

  • u dont have to do all of that...u just go to setting---->applications----->manage applications--->and then scroll down and clear all of the g mail storage and gmail stuff....THAT SHOULD DO THE TRICK

  • Keep the covers on Dumb Ass

  • cut yo nails boy

  • did they give u a code or u just log in your gmail account to use the phone

  • hey.i bought a unlocked GOOGLE PHONE.I need to use it or AT&T.i am getting an error:"there could be a problem communicating with Google server. This could be a temporary problem or your SIM may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, please call Customer Care

    my question is:

i tried putting in my friends T-Mobile SIM but there was only 1 arrow lighting up in the 3G arrows. what is the problem?can i contact u on the phone?u can reach me @ 732-986-7704.

    ITS URGENT.

  • mine has the same problem! its been like 6hours and it isn't connected. uhh! i hate waiting for it

  • omg mine too, if u found out how to fix it please msg me back...thnkyew :]]

  • So it's been 36 hours and my stupid phone won't connect to the server......

  • aw i'd hate to be u

    man

who knows i might end up being u they said i had 2hoursto 42

in like 20mins i t will be the start of my 2 hours

  • you need a special plan for it to work that happened to my bro but it works now.

  • Check the APN settings of ur network provider.I originally entered the wrong values,so I could get my phone connected to the google server.if u think that's not the problem, check if ur 3G/EDGE is enabled.tmobile connects thru 3G and AT&T thru EDGE.nmail me if u still have the problem

  • omg omg omg ME TOO ! mines been like this for like 9.5 hours. i'm going crazy ]=

  • ive got an iphone

  • i typed in the password and everything but it has an error message.how can i fix that

  • where do you put the memory card in(micro sd)

  • Ah, nice tip. I'm in OKC and the closest 3g area would be Dallas, TX, which I'm only there once or twice a year.

  • When you do your review, can you tell or show me how quick a YouTube vid will load while being on Edge? I also live out of a 3g network and my G1 arrives tomorrow, and this is one question I've yet had answered.

  • I can tell you now, that YouTube doesn't take long at all to load on Edge. However, so that it can have good load times, video quality is sacrificed. The only way to get really good looking vids on YouTube is to use WiFi.

But if you don't mind the quality, Edge does just fine for YouTube.

  • Thanks for the info, I was mainly asking as to see how quick the data download times were. I'll be on Wi-Fi at home and anywhere it's available, but stuck on 2g at work, which is where I'll do most of my playing.

  • You don't have anything to worry about. It downloads in a matter of seconds. So you shouldn't have any problem at all.

Word of advice though: Since you'll only be on Edge, I suggest setting the phone not to constantly scan for 3G. It'll save a lot of battery.
