L-39 Albatros is not Russian.

This one is from Russia maybe,but Albatros is produced in former Czechoslovakia by Aero Vodochody (Czech rep.)

The design is Czechoslovak, though there was significant Soviet input.

Okay I got it back together and we test flew it last week around NE Alabama. Many rolls, loops, a tail slide and some cool fighter jet stuff along a ridge NE of here.

Well, no. The guy who was flying it in this video, Hienz Pierre, sold to a guy from Austrailia. At some point, we will take it apart and crate it up and ship it to Austrailia for him. But we have no idea when that might be. With the economy the way it is these days, we might be keeping it for a while. But even if this one does go away finaly, we have at least a dozen others to play with :)

And yes, I had a great time in the air. Our owner, Richard Hess, is an exceptional pilot and can make just about any airplane do just about anything.

What a small world! This aircraft is sitting in our hangar at International Jets, Gadsden Alabama. Hienz Pierre sold this plane to an Austrailian guy and we are waiting for him to have us take it apart and crate it up and ship it to Austrailia. The cockpits are all torn apart right now; I had to remove all the MFD's and send them to get updated. I wish we had a branch office in Switzerland. I am quite sure it would need a check flight through the Swiss Alps.
