Friends and I are always quoting from "Star Trek Capt. Kirk--So Greedy" (uTube won't let me post the url here, but you can search it if you haven't seen it)--"Oh, can't talk? mouth full of chocolate-nougatty goodness?" and so forth.
Hahaha! The other one by that user is funny, too, about the Amazing Trees! With McCoy wanting the giant bunny rabbit XP
Another really funny Star Trek thing on YT is Lethal Atmosphere. If you haven't seen it, I highly suggest seeing it! Simply, it's just priceless, every moment of it.
Oh, dear... I can't believe how much I laughed at Lethal Atmosphere even though it's lethally silly! The vidder really did a great job with the editing, I've gotta admit.
Thanks for the tip.
Oh, yeah, I like Amazing Trees too--I wish those vidders would make more.
Perfect! I just can't see why they haven't brought you on board to write script for the new Star Trek film?!??!!?
Being an Aries, I love to see Kirk and Spock together anytime. They are both fellow Aries men, and I've always thought they served as two sides of the same guy. Only together could they portray a "balanced" Aries personality.
This little vid doesn't get much attention, but it continues to give me a lot of delight--so I'm thrilled that you like it too.
And, hey, if you have any pull with Paramount, I'd be happy to work on the next ST film, for sure. (That would be #12, since #11 is in the can, I gather.)
I have also thought Kirk, especially, is the classic Aries, but you raise an interesting point--Spock is another kind of Aries, which completes Kirk. Either one alone would be insufferable, but together: perfection!
Alone, I am completely insufferable. I'm Kirk without Spock (or vice versa.) But two Aries together are a balance, hilarious, unstoppable. But we always fight. In doing so, we keep each other honest. The men who played Anakin and Obi-Wan are both also Aries. (As was Sir Alec Guinness.)
Aries people are highly multifaceted, but so self-involved and intense that we need another Aries to play the mirror.
Otherwise it's just all Kirk, all the time, completely hamming it up.
That "Jazzy Bach" is like egg whites, isn't it?--makes what could be flat into a souffle!
Thanks for writing!
You have a fantastic "favorites" list--I can't wait to take some time and watch all those fantastic musicians. I'm pretty new to youTube so it's a treat when someone else has already chosen good stuff (and weeded out a lot, no doubt).
You're right,Mortmere--Doing is the best teacher. I just posted my second vid, which easily took me 4x as long (though it's only 3 times longer). It was extremely satisfying, as you say, to work so closely with the still photos, but it was hair-tearing figuring out some of the iMovie stuff.
I'm really glad my vids have inspired such an amusing and stylish video!! (The rain effect and your use of it are really cool, by the way - it's a pity there are hardly any actual rain scenes in TOS, they would be so useful in vids...) Anyway, it's always great to have new Trek vidders around, and I'm looking forward to more vids from you! :)
I never really thought about the lack of rian in TOS until I made this. I would have loved to see our boys get wet in the 1960s and not have to wait until they fell together into San Francisco Bay some 20 years later.
Oh well, all things happen eventually. Or not.
They still don't have dogs!
Thanks for your encouragement--I definitely want to do more--lack of technical skill being more of a deterent than lack of desire.
Hehe, I'm sure the only reason we don't see them get wet in TOS was that their uniform shirts would've shrunk instantly... Otherwise, showing young Shatner in a wet shirt would have been good business thinking... Oh yes, and just keep vidding, there's no better (or more satisfying) way to get more technical skill! ;)
Oh, I meant to post a reply to you, Mortmere, and instead wrote a new comment. Oh, well--I am still finding my way around this new technology.
Your words are encouraging and I did indeed wrestle (all week!) to create another vid--something somber and slashy to complement the silliness of this one.
Working so closely with the screencaps, I saw what a beating those uniforms took, and I admired the actors more than ever for how hard they worked with such shoddy sets, etc. Amazing.
Mais, oui, oui. Le capitaine puts us in mind of "la creme chantilly" (whipped cream), does he not?
I must say, I was inpsired by the work of many Star Trek fans, but most recently by mortmere's "Whipped Cream Maneuver" (linked as a "video response"):
Cute little video, and it's your first one? Well done!

And we even share part of a name (mine is a nickname for the 2nd half of yours).
