Being an Aries, I love to see Kirk and Spock together anytime. They are both fellow Aries men, and I've always thought they served as two sides of the same guy. Only together could they portray a "balanced" Aries personality.

This little vid doesn't get much attention, but it continues to give me a lot of delight--so I'm thrilled that you like it too.

And, hey, if you have any pull with Paramount, I'd be happy to work on the next ST film, for sure. (That would be #12, since #11 is in the can, I gather.)

I have also thought Kirk, especially, is the classic Aries, but you raise an interesting point--Spock is another kind of Aries, which completes Kirk. Either one alone would be insufferable, but together: perfection!

Alone, I am completely insufferable. I'm Kirk without Spock (or vice versa.) But two Aries together are a balance, hilarious, unstoppable. But we always fight. In doing so, we keep each other honest. The men who played Anakin and Obi-Wan are both also Aries. (As was Sir Alec Guinness.)

Aries people are highly multifaceted, but so self-involved and intense that we need another Aries to play the mirror.

Otherwise it's just all Kirk, all the time, completely hamming it up.

You're right,Mortmere--Doing is the best teacher. I just posted my second vid, which easily took me 4x as long (though it's only 3 times longer). It was extremely satisfying, as you say, to work so closely with the still photos, but it was hair-tearing figuring out some of the iMovie stuff.

(The rain effect and your use of it are really cool, by the way - it's a pity there are hardly any actual rain scenes in TOS, they would be so useful in vids...) I never really thought about the lack of rian in TOS until I made this. I would have loved to see our boys get wet in the 1960s and not have to wait until they fell together into San Francisco Bay some 20 years later.

Hehe, I'm sure the only reason we don't see them get wet in TOS was that their uniform shirts would've shrunk instantly... Otherwise, showing young Shatner in a wet shirt would have been good business thinking... Oh yes, and just keep vidding, there's no better (or more satisfying) way to get more technical skill! ;)

Your words are encouraging and I did indeed wrestle (all week!) to create another vid--something somber and slashy to complement the silliness of this one.

Working so closely with the screencaps, I saw what a beating those uniforms took, and I admired the actors more than ever for how hard they worked with such shoddy sets, etc. Amazing.
