great job man I built one last winter and she goes well im thinken of puting a torque converter on it. Oh and a useful tip for a chain tensioner use a old skate wheel. I did works awesome
awesome job, Im going to build one of these and I like the design layout on this, not sure why it would chew up the tire unless it spins a lot during take off? I seen them mounted on the seat post and yours being mounted on the wheel bolts which might offer a more stable ride since the push would be more lower on the bike. any thoughts?

Watching some numb nut scoot up & down a back street is about as informative as watching some kid in kindergarten playing scribbling on the walls with crayons.
HI guys but you are missing the point, do not contaminate the environment and use electric batteries or new ideas....your ideas is nice, but improve it not using GAS.
Very cool. I can understand too slow comments, it's just tall geared. As it should be that way you can pedal assist.
Most police in most countries need to be relied upon for their sense of humor when approaching powered bicycles. Generally they cause little offense and should be treated with respect by rider and constabulary.
I'm thinking about a gas powered pusher similar to yours. So, is the pusher still in service? Anything a newbie should be aware of? Any upgrades? Police problems? Just curious before I commit and start spending money that I really don't have.
Great fun, innovative, and better than a car. But I bet it's not legal. I'd be very uneasy about being pushed by a motor from behind, 'something fundamentally unstable the geometry of that - jackknife risk.
@PalmyBruce As for it jacknifing, not really. The device is attached on both sides on the frame of the bike, it's not swiveled-hinged like a regular trailer.
should put some kinda guard between the wheel and motor.. i cud only imagine the bike wheel tossing all kinda debris on that motor and reducing the life span and reliability of the motor.. but great job..
I've been gps clocked at 38mph; that's frightening on that bike. It's got lots of speed left to go. I like to pedal while it runs but I often run out of gears.
When I made the video, I was limited in the road space that I had and the traffic in the area.
Oh, and up hills, (lar5220) it's fine. The biggest issue is that it eats the back tire quite quickly. I built it because I have a LONG hill on the way back from work.
I always wentt under the assumption that they are legal, until they aren't. I have never been stopped on the roads where I live, and I have driven right by the police.
With gas prices being what they are today, there are a lot of people on bikes now, particularly in the metro city areas. They do sell kits that make bikes motorized, but your design seems to be an easy application.
Nice trailer. It's good to see more people are building bike trailers. I have a 6.5HP trailer with belt drive, and gets 50MPH. Check it out on motoredbikes forums. You could post pics of your trailer too! Good Job!
looks a littie slow, perhaps u could hit the pedal to the metal on the roads up hills. also looks like torque transfer needs a beter design, nice idea though
make a small wagon and put the pusher on the wagon so you have storage and power:)

Great Invention !!!
.
However is hard to see the benefits as this think is no longer a Bicycle , It become a slow Motor - cycle as it now as full engine
.
You would probably have to register as Motorbike and also have license for the type of engine you got
.
My suggestion is, get a electric hub which are discrete , Noise free , and you can pass under the radar , speeds also , are vey impressive
Check my video
