@viper10011 It's great to see people like you. There's so many people we are unable to laugh at their own ideologies where politics are concerned. I vote NDP (because of the MP not the party) but there are plenty of reasons to poke fun at or roll my eyes at them.
Heck, we should have a sense of humour about such things.
Disgusting! The Billion Dollar Boondoggle that is the CBC needs to be shut down now! Rick Mercer could do with 25 years in a labour camp. That would wipe the smirk off his face!
why is bc going to be paying hst?? so we can pay off the olympics?? that's SO harmonized! riots everywhere, not to mention our children will be paying off the olympics until they're in their 50s! why are we imposing this on them?
Anyway, instead they chose to say that they believe in all this. Canadians might but THEY DON'T! we're running a minority government and an election is coming...
Stephen Harper seems to change his opinions quite a bit. First he says Canada's alright in November and we don't need any deficit, then early this year he says Canada's in an economic crisis.. Like video says, Tory policies are never more than 20 minutes old.
Hey Rick - you can be the NEXT Finance Minister. DEFICIT & DEBT is a b-s- story being sold by the other side. Just change the monetary policy, wait for the NEW Banking/Financial Global platform to be implemented and good bye fractional banking. Mel HURTIG tried to open the eyes of the masses but was " silenced" NO reason why Canada should shoulder this kind/level of National debt. a VERY PROUD Canadian.
True...maybe, but being a successful economy means being exposed to the vicissitudes of global economic issues, and that might involve a deficit in hard times. I don't think it is 100% preventable.
Oversimplifies, but still funny, the Conservatives were worried about the recession (or the opposition), it wasn't a sudden change of heart. But as long as it's in good fun.
Well, they have two choices then: Say we're running a deficit because that's how we can garner the confidence of parliament, or fight an election on a balanced budget.
Instead they chose to say they believe in the idea, which they don't but they'll cop to because most Canadians do. They're both out of favor and dishonest. Some combination.
and why shouldnt he speak out against the monarchy? the GG and the queen are useless symbols of a time long past, and all they do is eat up our tax dollars. I have no doubt that the monarchy will soon be abolished, as my generation will soon reach voting age, and none of us feel any particular ties to the royal family.
Although, you are right, we couldnt appoint him GG if we abolished the position.
haha oh man I don't care what anybody says Rick Mercer is the unofficial Prime Minister of Canada, that guy cuts through political crap like nobody else

The Conservative policy, hypocrisy at its finest. In fact, it is so good that you can make it into Columbian-grade coffee.

I cannot believe how shot memories are.
The conservatives only became pro-deficit because the opposition threaten to vote the government down if it didn't change it's against-deficit views.

Rick Mercer should be our next Governor General! He's a national treasure
fanwuren 3 years ago 35
One problem... He's spoken of frequent occasions against the monarchy's presence in Canada.
themanyouwanttobe 3 years ago 6
And he's right about that too!
shotgun6X 2 years ago 4
Which would make him an even more ideal governor general.

Haha, this is hilarious! I haven't watched TV lately, is this a completely new "ad" or is Rick parodying a pre-existing ad?
