Probably not. The ribbon cable transfer data from one unit to another and if you break part of it, you eliminate some of the data. I doubt that it'd work after that..
Look around though as I'm not the best source of information for something like this.
my ps3 connects to my wifi perfectly but my psp finds the wifi gets the ip address but fails on internet connection...so maybe the wifi board is the problem, im glad i found this video =D
It's been ages since I've taken apart my psp, but after looking at these pics again, I'd guess there is a connection from the top of the sound/mem/wifi card to the underside of the motherboard. It's the only way I can think it'd connect. Plus there's a strange connection near the top of the wifi board.
yea lol learn by failing as i always say wish it wasn't so expensive to fix but ill put up a video of whats wrong and you (also any one thats good with this stuff) can give me some suggestions
1. Outta all my years of playing PSP, I've had no infrastructure (wi-fi online)! How can i get it?
2. There was this one time i let my sister play my PSP, . . . and apparently she dropped it, shifting the screen. . . T_T Is there any way to put the screen back to the way it was?
3. There also was this other time i decided to bring it to school. After the school day, my UMD disc worked really wierd with these noises coming outta it. Any ideas?
1. Actually I do put the wi-fi switch on, but when i try to connect (like to play against others or something), it doesn't work . . .
2. I don't really have the tools for taking off the faceplate XD
3. When i asked my dad (who's a real electronics kind-of-guy, but not with Sony and such), he said that i have ''bad hardware''. (No clue what that means. . . )
1. Actually yes. However it says that a DNS Server error occurs ( in some games ). While in others, . . . it just doesn't work . . . ( my Ad Hoc stuff works btw. )
Well.. I've never taken apart the umd drive before so I'm no help there, but you can look up a video here on youtube that might help. Search for a video here about removing the door.
Or you could Google "open psp" and find the link to the Afterdawn forums called "Guide - To Opening a PSP"
Hope this helps even though I didn't really do anything....
when i play music on my psp or just games or anything, the sound does not play! when i plug in my ear phones the music, game music is played through the speakers!!! plz help
i think i will have to buy a new sound board, i bought the psp from a friend for like 27 dollars and he had dropped it in the toilet so it was a little bit off but i have almost completly fixed it:)
m8 gues what happend to my psp fat i put the charger in in the night time as soon as i put the charger in my psp blew up and smell came out and started smoking
i disassembled my psp screen cover to check something and when i put it back on, thers dust particles sticking to the screen inside now i cant get it out! plz, tell me this happened to u aswell or just tell me how to get rid of the particles
Uh, take the faceplate off again and wipe the screen/back of faceplate with a extremely fine cloth. I used a microfiber, but I've heard that those are too fine and that they can scratch the screen.
The big connector from LCD to motherboard, mine fell off, is there anyways to replace it with something so I can connect my LCD again? because i don't wanna pay for a new motherboard
Update your firmware or most likely dump the idstorage and edit the idstoragekey0x044.bin file. You'll have to hex edit in the correct values. Pretty sure this will change what ps3 reads when it registers the device.
I am unsure of this since I just don't care enough to dump bits of the flash and hex edit things. I'll just wait for the next update.
Oh, and something to note guys. Your psp's mac will not update so if you have your router permit only certain macs to connect, you're going to have to figure out what the new one is. I was able to get that by disabling all protection on my router, test the connection and the mac address in the test connection screen seems to be the correct one. Enter that into your filter and it should work again.
Oh, and if you're going to use Remote Play on a ps3, you'll either have to update (next comment)

:D

Probably can't since I have no plans of buying a slim..
I might be able to if I use a friend's, but I wouldn't count on it.

In addition to my 3rd question ( the UMD disc tray going haywire ), I can only play 3 games now. T_T;
( This is after I brang it to school to get it hacked )
These games include:
- SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo
- SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2
- Bomberman
Every other game of mine doesn't work! T_T
Any ideas why?
It would help me a lot if you answered back, too! :D

Nice job on the Disassembly!
3 Questions for u:
Any ideas?

1. Your switch has been on when you've wanted to use the wifi yes? Have you ever connected to a network with your psp?
You can take off the faceplate and see exactly what shifted, maybe the bracket decided to bend or something. You can always buy a new lcd screen.
Uh... I'd guess the motor decided to go crazy.
Towards your other comment, I'm going to guess it's a laser problem or something. What exactly happens?
Atomaround 2 years ago
(No clue what that means. . . )
EdgeOfBlood 2 years ago
1. So you've actually set up a network to connect to in Network Settings? Do you have a wireless network in your house?
2. All you need is a screw driver. There a few tutorials on the web that show to take the faceplate off.
3. What your dad means is that the hardware (The psp itself) is having issues.
Atomaround 2 years ago
1. Actually yes. However it says that a DNS Server error occurs ( in some games ). While in others, . . . it just doesn't work . . . ( my Ad Hoc stuff works btw. )

labben93 3 years ago
That... Is quite weird.
Personally, I'd re-install the firmware. If that doesn't fix it, then I'd guess it's a hardware problem.
And guess what! The sound board is the same as the wifi-board.

i think i will have to buy a new sound board, i bought the psp from a friend for like 27 dollars and he had dropped it in the toilet so it was a little bit off but i have almost completly fixed it:)

I have a question....
The big connector from LCD to motherboard, mine fell off, is there anyways to replace it with something so I can connect my LCD again? because i don't wanna pay for a new motherboard
orlandoromania 3 years ago
Oh god.. The connection for the cable? As far as I know, you'll probably need a new motherboard.
Still, look around more because I may be wrong.
Atomaround 3 years ago
I think i need to get someone that knows about this stuff to hot glue gun the thing, just as long as the LCD works good
orlandoromania 3 years ago
Eeeh... I'm a bit iffy on that. It can't really hurt though.
Atomaround 3 years ago
If i get a professional to do it
orlandoromania 3 years ago
It's not the person, but the fact that you're hot-gluing a connector back on.
Atomaround 3 years ago
how hot glueing the connector, im hotglueing the wire from lcd
orlandoromania 3 years ago
Uh...
What's broken off. The connector or the ribbon?
Atomaround 3 years ago
The thing that you close from the motherboard of the psp
orlandoromania 3 years ago
I'm still actually confused..
The white connector where the cable connects into is disconnected from the board? Yes?
Atomaround 3 years ago
The black thing that you flip down when the wire is in, it is the thing ON the white thing
orlandoromania 3 years ago
So not the connector itself, but the clip on top that holds the cable in place?
Uh.. it may work? I still kinda doubt it.
Atomaround 3 years ago
i just need something to hold the wire to not come out
orlandoromania 3 years ago
dude the black screws are a bitch to get out. Is there some secret to it?

Uh, use a small screwdriver, press hard and turn? Don't strip the screw?

Wrong. I fixed the problem. It's called: Go on ebay and buy the part, open the psp and fix the damn thing.
It's not that hard. My friend's LCD is broken. Instead of buying a whole new one, he can just buy a screen for 30 bucks and I'll fix it for him.
Why buy something new when you can fix it?
