@bananas1and2 Actually for this era the difficulty level was high. She was a world championship finalist in Puerto Rico on this event prior to the Olympics.
Yeah beautiful routine. Jaycie was so underrated on uneven bars. She swung bars with such fluidity and ease, and had such a beautiful body line. Always underscored! I also love how perfectly rotated her releases are, totally in control.
everyone, nast improved her dismount!!!!!!! plz key in the search 'nastia liukin bar dismount 2010' then you can see how well she improved! i call her frog princess before but now i don't!
you're lucky to have her as a coach. This is one of my favorite bar routines. It was performed so well and contributed so much to the team. I think it was underscored, it was, in my opinion, the best executed bar routine of the bunch.
yeah she was seriously under scored for that routine. Those handstands are so amazing. This is actually probably one of the better routines from the U.S. on uneven bars.
@rfillangi The Americans bar lineup was all wrong. Her score wasnt higher since she was put 1st up, it is like the coaches saying she is the weakest on this event of all the Americans which isnt the case. Shannon Miller going 2nd last was ridiculous, she was clearly not the 2nd best American on bars at this point. The order shoud have been:
@beckerbombs yes, I agree, but the first-up position is so important because she sets the tone for the rest of the team. If they put Strug up first and she scored in the 9.6 range, the team has a lower score that they need to try to build on. I think they're strategy was correct. Miller would have been much better on bars had she not tried a double layout dismount. Should have stuck with a full in.
@teecrew ... i kind of agree with you, but Nastia's was from an inverted grip, so its not really a fair comparison. i think the inverted grip is harder to get power in the rotation, causing her to cowboy it. i have never done either of the dismounts, but im just speculating from my experience
@teecrew No shit, right? Nastia needs to get rid of that dismount, or any other front tuck tumbling element for that matter. She is so elegant and leggy, but those skills just make her look gangly and awkward, not to mention her horrendous cowboy legs.
damn why cant Nastia hit this dismount llike this

Dawes is the best your just saying that because she's black

beautiful, perfect handstand position throughout :)

should have scored higher than Dawes on this event. I though Dawes was a bit over scored. Jaycie had great form on bars.

Difficulty level was a little low, but honestly, she has the straightest, best handstands of all of them.

@beckerbombs I completely agree, thought a lot of the line ups were messed up. Like Kerri being last on floor and vault.

I agree. Jaycie had such great flow on her bar routines. Although I do love Chow's intricate Stalder work...

if only nastia was as good at that dismount as jaycie was
teecrew 3 years ago 20
@teecrew yeah, right??? LOL although nastia does it from an inverted grip, so we can't be too harsh
