every great college football team always has a downfall. look at notre dame, and oklahoma and texas suffered some but they usually find a way to get back to the top
What Nebraska lost more then anything when Dr. Tom left was attitude. The alarming thing to me is how many times the team has gotten blown out in the last ten years, under both Solich and Callahan. They have suffered some monumental blowouts (Colorado, Texas Tech, Kansas, OK State to name a few) in the years since. I venture to say that never, ever would that have happened had Pellini been the coach there.

I have a good feeling that they will. The offense is on solid ground(plus it'll be even better with Watson calling the shots). The defense will improve all around this year. A winning record is certain and being elite again is probably coming sooner than later.

I agree. Somebody before me made a husker video with this same speech a few yeas ago, I just wanted to make a more modern one that fit with what's going on in Husker Nation today.
This video is a little dramatic. Nebraska did win the North in 2006 so it's not as if Nebraska suddenly became Baylor or something the last 10 years. I'm sure now that you guys removed Callahan you can get back to being a top 20-25 program nationally. I'm sure 2008 will be a struggle but I'm sure Bo will do fine there.
that's just the thing. we're not a nationally top 20-25 team. we are Nebraska and we expect to be a top 5 team. yes there will be struggles but tradition to us means being a top 5 team year in and year out.
Nothing below greatness, below perfection is expected from this team and the last 10 years our expectations of this team have not been met. I think it's very fitting.
If we didn't take the North in '06, it would've been pathetic. Last year was the absolute definition of dismal. We WERE Baylor last year, with some great athletes. Completely unacceptable. Bring us back, Bo!
I feel your pain, Husker fans! I am an Alabama fan, and not even a 4 million dollar a year head coach can save our broken program! These days, we go 7-6 in good years.
You guys had one of the best, if not THEE best recruiting classes this year though. As long as Saban can coach up those guys and develop them into great college players, I look for bama to be a serious title contender in 2-3 years. Callahan could recruit very well but was worthless at developing them into players. So are you guys expecting to sell out your spring game again? Nebraska is going to try this year.
Bo Pelini is just what the doctor ordered for you guys. He put together some awesome defenses at LSU that were head and shoulders above the rest of the SEC.
Don't be surprised if your Tide steals the West this year. LSU and Auburn are breaking in new QBs, Arkansas has Callahan redux and the Mississippi teams aren't worth mentioning.
Its sad on what has happened with Nebraska football over the years. I'm an outsider looking in but I always enjoyed watching Nebraska football in the 90's. I still think the 1995 team is by far the BEST team i have ever seen with my own two eyes. I also remember teams used to hate their life whenever they say Nebraska on their schedule. I hope the new coaching change goes well and the tradition of Nebraska football be restored to what it should be

every great college football team always has a downfall. look at notre dame, and oklahoma and texas suffered some but they usually find a way to get back to the top

What Nebraska lost more then anything when Dr. Tom left was attitude. The alarming thing to me is how many times the team has gotten blown out in the last ten years, under both Solich and Callahan. They have suffered some monumental blowouts (Colorado, Texas Tech, Kansas, OK State to name a few) in the years since. I venture to say that never, ever would that have happened had Pellini been the coach there.

I have a good feeling that they will. The offense is on solid ground(plus it'll be even better with Watson calling the shots). The defense will improve all around this year. A winning record is certain and being elite again is probably coming sooner than later.

Excellent. Nebraska used to do something like this prior to every game. They did away with it a while back. That made me fired up listening to Pacino and watching our guys. I really, REALLY want to see us flying around killing people again...soon.

This video is a little dramatic. Nebraska did win the North in 2006 so it's not as if Nebraska suddenly became Baylor or something the last 10 years. I'm sure now that you guys removed Callahan you can get back to being a top 20-25 program nationally. I'm sure 2008 will be a struggle but I'm sure Bo will do fine there.

that's just the thing. we're not a nationally top 20-25 team. we are Nebraska and we expect to be a top 5 team. yes there will be struggles but tradition to us means being a top 5 team year in and year out.

If we didn't take the North in '06, it would've been pathetic. Last year was the absolute definition of dismal. We WERE Baylor last year, with some great athletes. Completely unacceptable. Bring us back, Bo!

I feel your pain, Husker fans! I am an Alabama fan, and not even a 4 million dollar a year head coach can save our broken program! These days, we go 7-6 in good years.

You guys had one of the best, if not THEE best recruiting classes this year though. As long as Saban can coach up those guys and develop them into great college players, I look for bama to be a serious title contender in 2-3 years. Callahan could recruit very well but was worthless at developing them into players. So are you guys expecting to sell out your spring game again? Nebraska is going to try this year.

Don't be surprised if your Tide steals the West this year. LSU and Auburn are breaking in new QBs, Arkansas has Callahan redux and the Mississippi teams aren't worth mentioning.

Its sad on what has happened with Nebraska football over the years. I'm an outsider looking in but I always enjoyed watching Nebraska football in the 90's. I still think the 1995 team is by far the BEST team i have ever seen with my own two eyes. I also remember teams used to hate their life whenever they say Nebraska on their schedule. I hope the new coaching change goes well and the tradition of Nebraska football be restored to what it should be

Thanks for the comment! Yeah I don't know if we will every be dominant again like the 90's teams, our goal for the 08 season is to atleast be competetive unlike the 07 team. We have nowhere to go but up :)
