I've read somewhere (god knows where or when) that the top speed of the E36 323i is in fact limited... to 227km/h.Otherwise it would be too close to the more expensive 328i's top speed of 236km/h. This is the same reason they named this 2.5 liter car like a 2.3 liter. There are more: The 323i on dyno runs usually outputs around 180hp, not the official figure 170hp. The same goes for the 0-100km/h specification, the official figure is 8.0s for 323i and 7.3s for 328i. They are closer irl.
My e36 320i top speed with 195 65 15 tyres is 233 km/h. I think this 323i is limited somehow :( because is a little difference betwene 150 hp/ps and 170 hp/ps and gearbox too
my e36 323i coupe make 248kmh , and is stock . Ok i dont have cut .. Good video

the car is not limited or some else.. it was 0°c- 2 °c and in front of me was an mercedes c klass... the top speed is/ was something about 240 km/h
