  • The book of Job is actually much worse than this.

  • @Kevpew ""much worse ""

Another child of satan seeking to justify his own evil.

  • Seriously, why is there an intro and that terrible background music? Ruins the whole thing...

  • @KozyK AND you cut off Kyle's rant at the end! WTF dude?

  • It is seriously incorrect, not only from a biblical perspective, but the fact that they are Jews it should be taken from the perspective of Jews as oppose to Christians. Although they have a base of the story right, but the overall comprehension level of the book of Job is questionable. Then again, it IS South Park afterall. LOL.

  • @chopaface pussy

  • Yeah sorry, but this video is WEIRD man. It's as if someone spent a lot of time putting the video inside a "book," but then added BIZARRE background music as if it's all some kind of effed-up production postmodern BS art. Actually, this whole video is WEIRD in a way that surpasses "bad"...WTF, ya know?

  • LOL it’s funny how people take southpark seriously. It even states that some of this stuff are told in away to make people laugh. Read the beginning people. Really!!? Read the book of Job and read what this episode did not state about it. All of it! Idiots!

  • Why the fuck did you have to edit with imovie?

  • Job was a good guy and he was loyal to God. But God was so insecure with his relationship with man, he allowed Satan to ruin Job's life, take his livestock and children away from and finally make Job sick and suffering. And don't forget, Job did NOTHING to deserve this hell on earth, he was a godly man. This is without a doubt one of the most horrible stories I've ever heard and proof that the bible and Christianity is evil. It basically teaches to be submissive or die.

  • WOW ! God is such a Douche !!

Congratulation God ! You're nominated for the biggest douche of the universe awards, and you won it !

  • @snackpeelskin Yes, God is a douche. and a murderer, and a torturer, a condoner of slavery. God is everything, we know as human beings, that is evil.

  • @am310965 But he didn't explain to Job why he had done these things to him, and an explanation is all that job wanted and what he didn't get

  • why didn't you finish the story? God blessed him back with all he had lost

  • @AM310965 Still doesn't make any fuckin sense

  • @iSoldMySoul2ThaDevil yes it does, read it yourself. God later blessed him with 10 children, his houses and everything. #Godbless

  • @AM310965 I believed you dumbshit, I'm saying God giving him back all the shit he took still doesnt make any fuckin sense.. why did god even waste his fuckin time takin it in the first place? jeez smart guy try reading a little

  • @AM310965 And don't be an arrogant prick bro, i'm an atheist you telling me "godbless" is like saying Fuck You Atheist. Keep your ridiculous fairy tales to yourself please, thank you

  • @iSoldMySoul2ThaDevil why did you reply me comment when you knew I am a Christian? and how was I suppose to know that you are an atheist? God forbids me to use an insulting words at you. Be respectful to other people's religion even if you don't believe in it.

  • @AM310965 I don't have to be respectful to shit, especially you're nonsensical bullshit!!

  • @iSoldMySoul2ThaDevil again God bless You. repect for the kingdom of God is at hand

  • @AM310965 fuck jesus and fuck dying. i hope heaven falls so i can smash jesus' head through a wall

  • @iSoldMySoul2ThaDevil Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever, what you say about Him won't change Him from being what He is. oh you sinner, Jesus loves you, give your life to Him and your life will never be the same again! #Praise God

  • @AM310965 I'd rather give my life to the tooth fairy than an egotistical prick you call God

  • @iSoldMySoul2ThaDevil I can see that HELL is calling you. It's not too late for you to repent #God is ready to accept you. don't worry about all the names you have called Him, He is Faithful and Just to forgive you your sins and to cleanse you from all unrightousness #Hallelujah. Don't let people decieve you ok?

  • @AM310965 Let Jesus come, we'll kill him again.

  • @iSoldMySoul2ThaDevil I'm happy to let you know that He's not dead He's alive!!! He's with His Father! I can see that you love Him so much #haha

  • @iSoldMySoul2ThaDevil ROTFLMFAO Hell ya!

  • Comment removed

  • @AM310965 I don't let and imaginary authority figure to forbid me anything. So, you are a delusional idiot who should be institutionalized and made to wear a helmet at all times. Religions are all shit, and the religious are deceived and pathetic.

  • @Ersa1a my religion doesn't forbid me anything, I do whatever I feel like doing. you know what? I won't have you brainwash and deceive me you fool/unbeliever, you see, I curse you if I want to. I think it's time you give your life to christ and stop trying to decieve the Believers. repent ASAP

  • @AM310965 ""doesn't forbid me anything""

Amen bro. God would rather have us learn to want His will than be forced into His will. But at the same time, God does alert us to things that are against His will and disciplines us when we resist His will and His Holy Spirit...but he does so will all patience and gentleness. God is awesome!

  • this story also reminds me of abraham and his son

abraham and his wife were infertile and couldnt have a child, god somehow allowed the wife to have a child (prob same way mary became pregnant.... yeah i think abraham was the infertile one and she had sex with some other guy), and then god had abraham sacrifice his own son to god abraham is about to kill his own son then god stops him and said he proved his worth

god doesnt care about human well being they prob got brain tumors from stress

  • lol god and satan were in college that was why

  • My major problem with this fairy tale is that we are supposed to believe that Job was allegedly privy to a series of conversations between "God" and "the devil".The same "god" that loves the sweet savor of blood on an altar, which obviously included human sacrifice (Abrahan and Isaac). And I am supposed to love this monster... but fear it as the same time? I believe there is a clinical term for that and treatment and drugs are available.

  • In the end Job was rewarded with new Health, Double his Wealth and a new Family with a more beautiful family than his previous one.

Your point is out of context as this only includes the suffering that job went through and not the big picture of a better life. This is comparable to the suffering of Jesus for a higher purpose. To embrace suffering and remain faithful gives us stronger souls but the choice is left to us to choose to be good or evil when everything is taken away from you.

  • @3asyrider75 lol I don't know if you have a wife or children, but picture this; they all die. God kills them. And then they get replaced with a more beautiful wife and smarter, healthier, etc. children. That does not make it all better. That is awful. Job is by far the worst story in the Bible. It makes no sense. Seriously. Wtf.

  • The story of Job was almost certainly fabricated as a response to certain complaints among the Hebrews. They saw people who were moral and suffered terribly, and saw others who were not so moral and had healthy happy lives and thought "WTF?". Because no logical answer could be given by religious elders, the story of Job was concocted showing God himself not answering either, but rather chastising Job for daring to ask "Why Lord?". It's a horrible story.

  • I have. Several times. Yes "bastardized".

  • @ferechi,

  • Why is there background music? it is really annoying and it makes the dialog hard to understand.

  • @pconwe11

in order to get passed the censors i think.

  • @pconwe11 the dialog isnt hard to hear you just suck

  • Why did he do those things?

Because the God of the Old Testament is a bigger dick than Scott.

  • @TheOpinionatedPerson im scott..what the hell did i do to you?

  • @TheOpinionatedPerson ""God of the Old Testament ""

Nah. But you just got exposed. You just vented your rage and hostility towards ur creator and that you are a danger to the creative order and must be eliminated/bannished for eternity.

    1. Job grew and matured thru this event

    2. Others of that day saw Jobs growth in faith and the faithfulness of God

    3. Others saw the same for 1000s of years after.

Hence, Job Himself and countless others were benefited for eternity by His suffering.

  • That depends on what your opinions about death and God is. First, if you were a christian and died, you get to go to heaven with God which is freaken awesome. Secondly, God has a plan for everybody and even if it means that you have to die to further God's glory. Again, remember that this life is just temporary for us. God cares more about the rest of your life!!! Your salvation!

  • that's not the end of the story!!!!! Because Job obeyed God, at the end, God gave Job twice as much as he had before!

  • @beatthejunk Yeah, .. too bad he can't return the children of Job he killed. Sure, Job can get some new ones but .. that doesn't make everything a-okay.

  • I find it especially important to note that whenever the people that will condemn to hell for not believing in him ask for evidence of him, they are told it's wrong to test God, and he doesn't owe us proof of himself, but he goes out of his way to torment his most loyal servant to prove himself to Satan.

  • NO WONDER ITS HARD TO CONVERT PPL TO BE RELIGIOUS.

  • No God doesn't care about what satan thinks so much as Job proving 2 all of us that since we are created in God's image we can defeat satan. Job was a righteous man; an example of what's right or whatever to do in the face of the garbage life puts us through. Now, we DO all have different paths so JOB is more like a quideline than a set of rules. READ THE BOOK! satan did those things to Job, not God. God did allow them, but, again, it was so Job could be an eternal example of how weak satan is.

  • @AMRiYcad So in short, Job got to pwn the lord of nothing hardcore and the part they forgot was the end of the story. Job was healed, had 10 more kids, twice the posessions he had before, and lived in peace for the rest of his days. We ALL go through hard stuff. God know that. God respects that. So if He was actually trying to prove a point to anyone, it's us. Peace out.

  • @AMRiYcad

God doesn´t prove shit to bleeding nobody because he fucking doesn´t exist.

  • @NKA23 I am sorry He seems to upset you so, being okay with other people's beliefs is a part of growing up.

  • @AMRiYcad

See, there a difference between accepting other people´s beliefs or accepting fucktards interpreting the Bible literallly, which is WRONG...even if you beLIEve that crap.

  • @NKA23 Okay. Fine. You get a Bible, do your homework, PROVE it's a "LIE", and get back to me.

P.S. You DO realize your word pun is only relivant to english, right? It makes you look a bit ill-informed at worst and a bit cheesy at best.

P.P.S. You don't know me. If we had met under different circumstances (EG in the real world in stead of youtube) we might have gotten along. Who knows? So how can you justify calling me by an obsenity when I have done absolutely nothing to harm or threaten you?

  • @AMRiYcad

Well, the stars don´t orbit earth, for example.

Then there are more than 70 contradictions in the Bible.

  • @NKA23 PEOPLE in the Bible have made scientifically wrong statements like when Joshua said, "sun and moon stand still". That is not what happened, but God got the point, and did whatever needed to be done so that the Israel got a longer day to win a battle. Some guy in NASA found a gap in time and filled it with this and a couple other incidents when time stopped. So, that specific incident was not a contradiction but a quotation of (David was it?) someone with limited scientific knowledge.

  • @AMRiYcad Therefore, it does not say anything in regards to God not knowing how His creation works, just an ancient human being's perception of how the universe works. Also, some translations of the Bible are not as accurate as others, so it's good to go with one that is as close to the original language as possible. Word studies can help to. =)

  • @AMRiYcad

Wait, wait...I lost you after that NASA thing....

Please take those pills the doctors gave you.

  • @NKA23 What pills? Dude, I''m not of my rocker; I don't think your off yours. Go google time gap.

  • @AMRiYcad

Hmm, I did...and I found nothing about NASA and shit.

Are you sure that your doctors did not give you any pills to you?

  • @NKA23 Yes I am sure. LOLz. I will look for the link I think it was on a christian news website. K?

  • @AMRiYcad

    Don´t hurry, I´ll wait...

  • @NKA23 Okay, the comment box won't let me post the url but here is the nameof the article: "NASA and the 'Missing Day in Time'" it is at About.com. =)

  • @AMRiYcad lol so to proof Satans weakness he let a loyal follower who praise him go trough hell in earth? Lol well that is a big ego and we are to praise him for him to protect us from evil, yet he let's evil fuck us to proof that evil is weak? jajaja silly rabbit religions for retards lol

  • @boricua316 A) Following Yeshua IS NOT a religion. B) satan is a VERY conniving lair, so in exposing him, God is protecting us in a way, but only we can acknowledge the warning and, thus, avoid being deceived. Do you like being deceived? Really?? Sorry.... O.o. C) The rain falls on the bad AND the good. Messed up stuff DOES happen to very good people. It sucks; it's heart-rending; it's life.

  • @AMRiYcad lol fine dude whatever jerks your chain. I am tired of religious discussions so good for u and your merciful God lol have a nice day man.

  • @AMRiYcad Confusion here. "Satan" is the Hebrew name for "adversary" and scholars of the Torah believe that he isn't what is commonly known as Lucifer by Christians. Satan is, essentially, a worker of God to go out into the land and act as a henchmen of sorts. This is why there is such a casual account of Satan and God talking and even bargaining over Job's loyalties. Satan may be a liar, .. but only because God told him to do so.

  • @druvirus I haven't heard that before. I have been taught and beleive that Satan was an angel who lead worship in heaven until he decided he wanted to be worshipped and thus rebelled against God (in other words a pathetic attempt to claim His throne that we are not given much detail on). God cast him out of Heaven but limited His power and according to Job still has to check back in and tell God what he has been doing. Satan is not a tool of God but also is not egual to or above Him.

  • @AMRiYcad P.S. Please excuse my spelling errors, I am kind of in a hurry today ^^

  • @AMRiYcad That is Lucifer, not Satan. There is a lot of confusion when going between Old Testament and New Testament as there can be a lot of backpedaling when Christians look to the Old Testament to further Christian belief. In Hebrew, "Ha-Satan", or satan, are members of a divine council under God who's purpose is to go into the world and tempt men and report back to God on who turned away from him. It isn't until the New Testament that Christians took the name "Satan" and made it what it is.

  • @AMRiYcad Basically, what happened over the years, is that Christians tend to misinterpret earlier writings (which I am not criticizing as this happens today to all books all over the world) of the Old Testament. Lucifer was part of the Seraphim under God who led the rebellion before being cast down. Over hundreds of years, the idea of "Lucifer" was combined with "Satan" and "Devil" (which there are, in old scripture, several "satans" or "devils") and a new entity was created.

  • @druvirus Well, bottom line their defeated by the Blood of Jesus/Yeshua, so we don't have to worry about it anymore. =)

  • @SlashinatorX Fuck u dont shut up do you? Who the fuck cares if ur 17? And do it already. Im tired of last warnings! Ur so stupid.

  • @SlashinatorX Pretty is on thing, lusting after 11 year olds when u will be an adult in months is fucked up and wrong. the fact you think ur justified and not a sick wierdo is even worse. Most normal people can look at a child and just think, hmmm shes gonna be a heart breaker when shes older. But you, especially after some of the shit on ur hard drive, are obsessed with sex with children.

  • @SlashinatorX Why the hell are you still here & why the fucking hell do you think 12 year olds are attractive?

  • can anyone upload the normal version of this, without the music and long ass intro? and if not (apparently not), can somebody tell me how i can just do it myself??

  • wait, but I was taught that God tested him and later gave him everything back IN THE WORLD and later in hereafter..........

  • Thank god he doesn't exist :D

  • Job is not about "Why bad things happen to good people," "How to suffer" nor is it about "Job the patient." It is an ironic story, with no happy ending, that simply explains that there is no way man can fully understand God. It is one of the oldest books in the Bible and can be taken symbolically or literally, but either way, it is an inaccurate representation of how God works. This is a difficult book to grapple with, and most don't even know where to start. I study this in class and its tough

  • @chancek0001 So basically stories that portrait god as an evil dictator are inaccurate? How convenient :)

  • @Murdulo I didn't rebuke other Old Testament stories. Job was believed to be written by Moses as an early theological STORY of how God's actions are incomprehensible to man. That is the only part of the story that is for certain. But its not like you are going to take my word for it anyways. Plus, Im a Christian. I dont follow too closely to what the OT reads because I read it through a Christian lens. To me, the OT is what it is and I stick to the theology of the NT

  • @chancek0001 "Believed to be" is your interpretation of what someone meant 2000 years ago. And you start "interpreting" when stories portrait your god as an evil dictator. The rest of the bible you take it as it comes. Not only is that hypocritical and intellectually dishonest, it also shows how much subjectiveness you put to things, and how much you avoid objective and refutable evidence.

  • @Murdulo No, "believed to be" is taken from the bible commentary, scholarly documents, and dr dissertations. Plus the author of Job serves no purpose to the story. My "interpretations" come from every story, because Paul writing to the Corinthains about being drunk has nothing to do with my life but there is a lesson to be learned about how I can apply it to my own. And what "refutable" evidence is shown? The Bible contradicts itself about certain topics, so please point out what is "refutable"

  • @chancek0001 Exactly, there's no evidence in favour of it because it is a book. Yet you think it should be a moral guideline, and, as a christian, that it should be teached to your kids. You should consider the possibility of it being just a simple book written by primitive minds (that's actually where the evidence points to).

  • @Murdulo There is also no evidence against it either. Plus, I can find info to suggest just the exact opposite. And those "primitive minds" back in the day also gave us many mathmatic, philosophical, and scientific ideas which we still hold to as truth. Christians see the Bible as a book written by men, but inspired by God. It was written by over 40 people over the course of 1500-2000 years and has served as a moral guideline since before it was fully put together.

  • @chancek0001 So because there isn't evidence against unicorns means they exist? Don't be stupid. Your extremely moral book suggests worshipping an entity that's ok with treating women like shit, beating kids to death, sending vicious wild animals to kill people who don't worship him, and slaughter and rape entire towns if it is done in his name. Go read the bible, you hypocrite.

  • @Murdulo You are trying to hard aren't you?I have read the Bible and I am currently studying it from an ethical, historical, and even a literal standpoint. We already established that everything you are referring to is from the OT. Im not an OT scholar, and I dont really study it, and when I do I Christian-ize it. It is the Jewish Bible, so ask them how they deal with it. The NT speaks AGAINST all of that and the goal is to live as Christ lived. I dont have an opinion on the OT, I follow the NT.

  • @chancek0001 So basically the OT is invalid because it says mean things? That's convenient on your behalf. And contradictory, too, since the NT says old laws still apply. But oh well... If you had any problem with logical inconsistency and cognitive dissonance you wouldn't be a christian to start with.

  • @Murdulo Never said it was invalid. I said that Christians read the OT differently. What makes you believe everyone reads these literally anyways and not metaphorically? And yes the NT does say the old laws still apply, but Jesus also breaks laws and does not observe others if they interfered with his works. The laws were meant to make the people pious, but instead made them worse off. Jesus wanted people to do right because they knew it was right in their heart, not because they had to.

  • @Murdulo Oh and btw, I am currently in grad school getting both my M.Div and soon to start my Masters of Philosophy. I admit I am not the most knowledgeable nor do I hold the most wisdom, but I do not lack in cognition. While we are on the subject of defending ideas I must say this: I have to give you props for being an atheist. I do. To me, it takes a lot more faith to look around the world, and once you understand how intricate and complex life is without believing it came from a divine one

  • @chancek0001 So you don't think the OT is invalid, you just don't like it. But it's all divinely inspired. And it's ok to skip rules that you think are morally unacceptable because supposedly jesus did so too.

Covering your ears won't make those horrible, primitive verses go away.

It takes faith to not believe in the supernatural, of which there is absolutely no evidence in favour? See what I meant when I said you had no problem with logical inconsistency? Be intellectually honest, for once.

  • @Murdulo Again you are putting words in my mouth. Never said I didn't like it. I said I do not study it as much as I do the NT. I know those "horrible, primitive verses" and I dont expect them to go away. And maybe my God is that way. If so, I have accepted that, because I believe that in the end, He made the right decision. The only reason you call it "supernatural" is because for you, these things are beyond what you recognize as natural.

  • @chancek0001 The nature of the universe doesn't point to a god's existence. Hence, your belief in it is of the supernatural (and irrational) kind. And btw, you're "accepting" that worshipping a god that condones slavery, incest and rape is A-OK. So much for your moral guidelines book.

I don't have to provide any evidence, as the burden of proof lies with the one that makes the claim. For a scholar, you seem purposefully ignorant on these topics.

  • @Murdulo Maybe, dude. I told you I do not have a reply to deal with the OT. Its just something I struggle with and I move onto the NT where it speaks against such things. So maybe God had evolved his theology. Dont care, my NT understanding and Jesus teaches against such things.

Just for the sake of argument, provide me with some evidence. You also have to convince me. I know this is going to get to where we agree to disagree, but again. Just for the sake of argument, convince me.

  • @chancek0001 "Evolved"? He never changes his mind, according to your holy book. And I clearly understand you "don't care" about any of this. It saddens me that maybe you are on average an intellectually honest person, but you make an exception for this particular, religious case. As you yourself said, you simply don't care.

I don't make any claim, therefore I need no evidence. But I'm calling out the people that say they do have such, when they make claims about any deity or holy book.

  • @Murdulo I thought you said you have read the Bible. God changes his mind all the time. I said I "dont care" if God has changed his theology. I struggle with my studies and readings. I make no exceptions nor do I have to make excuses. I do not understand the full context of these readings nor do I undestand the audience which these were written to.

For the sake of argument, provide me with proof for your claim. It is easy to deny any belief, provide evidence of no God outside biblical claims.

  • @chancek0001 1 Samuel 15:29 NASB, Exodus 32:14 NASB. God doesn't change his mind, according to your holy book. Why should he anyway, if he's all knowing? You don't make exceptions, excuses... or thinking whatsoever. All of these logical contradictions and primitive claims within the bible fly by you, as you close your eyes, cover your ears, and repeat "Well I'm struggling to understand".

For the last time, I don't make claims. I point out the stupidity and lack of evidence for yours.

  • @Murdulo Dude. Read the Exodus but you posted because you clearly have not. Here's another: Jeremiah 26:19. Since you have such a great view from that high horse of yours, you should know that you do not argue scripture with scripture. It goes on forever and nobody wins, so dont bother with a retort.

  • @chancek0001 I have, and those 2 verses contradict each other. You can't argue ANYTHING with scripture, because it is a book. Relying on a logically-compromised book for moral guidance is dangerous and irresponsible.

Noone has provided convincing proof for anything supernatural, so far. That makes their clames unsubstantiated. I don't need to check the entire universe to prove them wrong.

And what presuppositions would those be? You continue to retreat and criticize, and never provide proof.

  • @Murdulo I told you that the Bible contradicts itself, does not prove that God does not change his mind. According to the progression of the Bible, God does change his mind about many things. What is irresponsible about following a book that says "do not kill" and "feed the poor?" There are dangers of the narrow-minded following a certain passage, like the snake handlers, but there are extremist in every faith.

It may not be proof of the supernatural, but research "The Missing Day."

  • @chancek0001 The bible says he doesn't change his mind. And the bible says he changes his mind sometimes. Don't you think it's dangerous to blindly follow a book with no inner logic? You pick and choose the verses you deem as moral, and that judgment is based on the morality you inherited from society, not from religion.

The missing day was a hoax invented by theists. Are you really bringing that up?

And again: I don't need to prove anything. You do. So far, there are no gods.

  • @Murdulo The whole thing is really a scam, to keep certain people in power. The Pope uses it, the megachurch TV evangelists use it, the drunken raving circuit-riding preachers of old used it, Jonathan Fuckwards used it, Mohammad used it (FORGIVE ME FOR INSULTING ISLAM). It's so full of bullshit even Billy Mays would've cringed at attempting to sell it!

  • @Murdulo I have yet to retreat or criticize anymore than you have. Also, the burden does not lie solely on a Christian to provide proof for anything. You have presuppositions that God does not exist or that he is some "dictator." What would be enough proof for you anyways? What more do you need than to look around?

  • @Murdulo Makes me really happy to see people with your intellect, logic and common sense. I wish there were a lot more people like you :) Keep it up man.

  • @gambitx4000 Wow, thanks dude. I mostly get theists' pathetic strawmen arguments such as the ones on this thread as responses, lol. Cheers mate.

  • @Murdulo And since you want to be a critic, its my turn: To say "I need proof" is illogical because you cannot know all things by which you could state that there is no proof. You can only say you have not yet seen a convincing proof; after all, there may be one you haven't yet seen.

  • @Murdulo One more: Also, I can no more prove to you that God is real than you can prove that the universe is all that exists. Your demand of proof precludes acknowledgment of many types of evidence because your presuppositions don't allow it.

  • @Murdulo To me, these are characteristics of God, so my God is natural in his own sense. You beg for proof, but you have yet to provide any evidence yourself.

  • the lesson you're supposed to learn from Job is there is nothing but God and even when he's allowing terrible things to be done to your loved ones and to you, which should all lead you to the conclusion that he's terrible, loving and worshiping him is going to be the most rewarding. everything on this earth, for the sake of earthly rewards is done so in vain. After that there is either nothing or there is God. This book puts forth the notion that there is God. none of you understand that?Ecc,etc

  • The Lord's wisdom is incomprehensible to us creatures, and the book of Job is clear evidence of this.

  • the book of job is probably the most horrible book of the bible. it clearly shows YHWH allowing satan to steal, kill, sicken, and pretty much destroy many lives, just to prove him wrong!

in the end job gets a lot of stuff.....but his kids are never resurrected

and those who dont think death is a big deal...why dont you just kill yourselves? and if you worry about damnation, why dont you sacrifice yourselves so others might live? because you know death IS a big deal......

  • @sabin97 do you deny yourself the right to do what you wish with a piece of paper you used to write some words? you didn't even create the particles used to make that paper, and yet you have no problem tossing it or tearing it to shreds. if he is real and created us he can do what he wishes. that we can feel and think is just another factor and either another source of his amusement or something for him to consider. but we are still his creation with which he can do what he wishes.

  • @msa1985

    that's a pretty interesting argument

the concept of evil doesnt apply to god simply because he can do whatever he wants and no matter how horrible the deeds they cannot be deemed evil because well......he created us and he can do whatever he wants...

  • @msa1985 What a sick and twisted people theists are. Hugh.

  • @sabin97 why do you assume he would have allowed them to disappear or suffer for all eternity after they died? they died in an attempt to see if Job would continue to love God and he did. And because he did, God gave him even more than he had prior to the game.

Death comes to us all after which there is nothing or there is God. Earthly passions are pursued in vain. that is the point of the story.

Whether you decide it means to beleive in God or believe in something bigger than yourself, THINK.

  • @msa1985

who said anything about all eternity?

the point is that he allowed satan to do horrible deeds(as satan cannot do anything if he doesnt have explicit permission from god) just to prove him wrong. in my humble oppinion that's what makes the book of job so horrible.btw i'm neither affirming or denying any concept of a diety, just refuting the book of job as an accurate description of god. it's just too horrible.....specially when YHWH is supposed to be a loving god.....

  • @Cerelilqt,

Exactly. The writers of South Park bastardized the story of Job in their retelling. it's annoying when fans of the show take everything they say on the show as truth. Just because they say it on TV doesn't make it so. There are such things as personal agendas.

  • @DavidsProductions LOL yep. Want to lose more faith think about the largest genocide on earth. Haven't figured it out, the Flood where even babies were wicked and deserved to drown. Or how about how God is about to kill Moses because his son is not circumcised. More importantly why would a timeless God need to test something if he is timeless

  • @mjfoster0825 "Bastardized"? Go read it, you dumbass.

  • @GoblinXXX,

Not all beliefs are created equal. To even ask such a thing is silly. The point is, people need to actually READ the story from the Bible itself, then make a critical analysis. Problem is, people respond to Job in the context as it is represented on South Park, which is a gross, oversimplifying summarization. And yes, God can crush any one of us if He so chooses. Look around the world in which you live...

    And lighten up!

    Peace

  • Question: why do they miss out the end of the book? They completely took the book out of context to prove a null philosophical point in the name of "oh look I don't believe in God so I'm automatically an intellectual" atheism. I have nothing against atheists, but alot of them should study philosophy past reading Richard Dawkins. People like Immanuel Kant and David Hume were far better atheist philosophers.

  • The trial and tribulations of millions and the spilled blood of innocent victims suggests that evil is unleashed by man, that it is not of God and, in the end justice and righteousness will prevail.

  • That god guy sure seems like an asshole.

  • Jesus loves you

but his Dad thinks you are a dick

  • ...do not need proof. Just as you say the Bible is nonsense that is your belief. But I'm sure you believe in something ;) even tho u cant prove it's legitimacy either.

All we have are our theories and beliefs bro.

Just always study before you criticize.

  • @mjfoster0825 What a fantastic argument. Project the shortcomings of your own pathetic lack of evidence onto the other party, then pretend that that shortcoming no longer matters. And the follow up, that "we all have our theories and beliefs" is meaningless. Does everyone having their own beliefs make them all equal? David Berkowitz believed his neighbor's dog told him to shoot people-- Is that as valid as your own beliefs?

  • Nope. Not what I said. That is what YOU just said.

No the Bible is not 100% literal. That is not to say that it is a fairytale or "crock of shit" either, as you so eloquently termed it.

The Bible is what it is and as such is open for interpretation. I, for one, believe very much in the Bible.

Unless you have studied the Bible extensively along with history of the time period then you are not an expert and need to respect the beliefs of others. Bc that's what beliefs are- they are subjective and

  • No the Holy Bible is not literal, but that takes nothing away from it's validity.

The infinite wisdom of God could never be captured by the finite language of man.

At least religion make an attempt... More than which can be said of most of you, who are ready to dismiss before doing the homework yourself, because I guess that's too much work :/

And if you don't believe me, do us all a favor and look it up- do your homework.

  • Everyone please don't believe everything you see in cartoons. The man in the Bible referee to as "Job" is representative of every man. It might give the effect calling him "Eveyman". It is similar to how Adam is not a real single person, but representative of Man.

As far as all those people who were killed and poor 'ol Job, who eventually cursed the day he was born- none of the were REAL no one died or suffered.

These are what you would call allegories. They are not based on any one person.

    No

  • @mjfoster0825 So the bible is a crock of shit, that is reassuring, thanks for that.

  • @mjfoster0825 While you're busy excusing it for being an allegory, you might want to look at what the allegory SAYS-- That the god you're supposed to love and worship thinks it OWNS you, and by virtue of creating you, can do anything else it wants to you, at its whim. Bow down to that if you wish, but if you believe the point of this allegory, know that it does not MATTER to god how loyal and faithful you are, it can crush you like a bug and just might, if it feels like it.

  • If you read it you will find out that after that God restores all that has been lost...

  • Arrg! Doe anyone, ANYONE here get what the fuck the book of Job is about? Doesn't anyone read the book? Doesn't anyone get it? No more reading between the lines? This story is actually a very beautiful story! Do we all have to go through some shit in order to get a clue about what the whole thing is about? Please, anyone? Am I talking into a void, or does someone hear my woes, besides the angry Atheists and the self-righteous Christians? Are we doomed to take things literally and miss the point?

  • God chooses the day you die... He is the only 1 that knows. It was for the best for the rest of generations to understand to praise him no matter what. The people that have died are with God anyway and are in a better place.
