Science can help progress our efficiency for fiscal responsibility more than any other of the programs our government throws money into.If we want to cut down our debt, a better place to start slashing spending than scientific funding would be the funding of our global military empire. 800+ overseas military bases are not cheap to staff, maintain and facilitate.

Yet another misleading video from BA. The shrimp treadmill bit was just a small part of a much larger study about sea health, and the treadmill itself cost about $50. Do a search, and see why you can't trust BA.

As for the trillion, gov't revenues have fallen due to the recession, while the costs incurred by Bush and Obama have to be paid for. If you incorrectly think Obama's spending is solely responsible for the deficit, you're in BA's target market.

This video doesn't care about that. Even if the $500,000 study was actually worth $10,000,000 to the fishing industry, they'd still oppose it. That's stupid, but that's how fiscal cons operate.

first off, I highly doubt it was worth 10 mill or half that, if you could even measure it. Second, it's not the end amount, but the net worth efficiency and the opportunity costs involved. What would it be worth on a collective if that 500k was kept in the individual taxpayer's pockets? And was 500k really needed for a study like that?
