Firstly, their image turned into something many consider lame and overdone(look at Dani)

Second, the vocals are not the same(as in 90s), in a bad way.

Thirdly, the instruments. The quality has improved, but the composition has lost it's soul. Can Nymphetamine and Godspeed stand against Principle or Dusk?

The synthesizers also got cheesy. The demos, for instance, had nothing like that, apart from 2000+ stuff.

@n4mel3ss Cradle Are a band of musicians, as most active musicians know you cannot make the same album over and over, or stick to exactly the same style or you will become bored and probably want to give it up. Few bands remain the same as there early work as a unique drive and hunger fuels the musicin the early days , thats why most bands first few albums are the best, its years worth of writing and ideas surfacing.

Dani had quite a voice back then! But why didn't he do some of the loud whispering parts like in the studio version?

And why did the guitars become almost inaudible when the drums came in? Talk about bad mixing.

You're right about the vocal bit. And speaking of the mixing, the guitar WAS pretty audible BEFORE the rest of the instruments came in. So the problem is not in the low res recording, it's just the volume levels are out of balance, too much bass noise. I've seen bands live, a lot of them have the same problem.
