  • very powerful....

  • I had to watch this twice, because it's a moving story, but the first time I was too busy looking at Cooper and how insanely hot he is to hear anyone talking.

  • @Shelby596

Hmm, those are pretty sexy photos of Anderson Cooper. :P

  • Lady please you know you are a natural born american stop the fraudulent sh*t phony.

  • @blackfeatherarchery you and her need to get your acts together because now you will come here to justify her bad manners and rudeness with the "ohh she is a rich american " eh? newslfash theire are plenty of rich white americans in ghana too and they dont behave like this silly cow.. no manners looking at ghanaians like they are performing circus acts.. she and you need to go to FINISHING SCHOOL to learn GOOD DEPORTMENT .

  • @SuperQueenofAfrica What the hell are you talking about.

  • im 11 years old and im a ghanian dutch american

  • I wish that Isha Sesay was there to see this or even to cover this report. I would have cried with her and all the other black people who walked into these dungeons.

  • Ghana 600 yrs ago consist of most of mali. Ghana is not the small piece of crap the euronuts craved out of africa and call it today. Ghana was alot more bigger in ancient time.

  • obama is not the first african-american president he is the first african-european president. and he is not black he is half-caste biracial.

  • @OBAMAisHalfCaste Good post.

  • @OBAMAisHalfCaste well said, half -caste, i think a lot african americans should really understand what it really means and stop coming up names like mixed race and biracial. the europeans called it HALF-CASTE

  • @hatie3 yes true but half-caste biracial and mixed-race is the same meaning. but black and half-caste is different.

  • @OBAMAisHalfCaste really?? u think that the white sees it at different,we black sees at different, the white doesnt??

  • @hatie3 some whites see it as different. and others know that its different but are just to racist to accept that 50% of their own race lives with in a half-caste person. and even more than 50% of white (d.n.a) lives with in a quarter-caste person.

  • @OBAMAisHalfCaste why should we wait for them to accept that 50%,why cant we just claimed the race we look like, which is black.

  • @hatie3 well most half-caste people look more white. and white is the most dominant gene. their is so many white peopl that go more darker than many half-caste people when in hot sunny countries like spain and brazil.

  • @OBAMAisHalfCaste did u say they look more white than black,where do u live,where are u from??

  • @hatie3 im from south-africa. people call biracial people coloured here. i know that in america coloured and black is the same thing. but in africa coloured simply means a mixed-race person. but to most black africans biracial and white is the same thing. so alot of biracial half-caste people are always called white muzungu in most black african countries.

  • @OBAMAisHalfCaste well here in europe, where i live and 90% of the whites here, are white white white, dont call it mixed-race or biracial, they call u by your nationality, and if they dont know, its just black,i am vry light with curly hair and to them them i am not different from the black african that lives in african.in america its different because the whites are just mixed with indian and black, so maybe thats why they call them mixed.but here u are just black and i am very proud of lit.

  • @hatie3 south africa was a dutch collany so the main majourity of black native holland people living in holland are from south african decent from zulu tribes. but if you,re racially mixed then you,re not black. and in obamas case their is no difference in calling him white as in calling him black since he is 50% white and 50% black. but in africa all half-caste people are just called straight up white .

  • @OBAMAisHalfCaste well nice chatten with u,but i will just remain black.

  • @OBAMAisHalfCaste waaaaaaaaait a minute all the south africans are living in The UK and Germany the majority of the black people in holland are from the Netherlands-Antilles Surinam,Congo,Angola

  • God BLESS GHANA

  • Anderson Cooper did very well with this report. Seems to be an intelligent and compassionate human being who approached this terrible situation with great sensitivity and compassion.

  • im proud to be half ghanain

  • touching story n so true ....may God bless my ancesstores......R.I.P....my forefathers

  • I love my people.

  • Two people I love, President Obama and Anderson Cooper.

  • Five Thousand African Americans? I never knew. That's amazing.

  • @kakompo I'm moving to Ghana in 14 days. I'm very excited.

  • good job Makeba.

  • Light a candle today for those that survived the passage. Happy Emancipation day to everyone.

  • This is so refreshing! I think all black people need to travel to the homeland Africa

  • Anderson didn't you learn anything on that tour? The majority of slaves were shipped to Europe and South America (mainly Brazil). Slavery wasn't just the Unites States' problem but the entire world. But we are taught that slavery is all our (USA) fault.

  • i million was sent to Mexico and native american own slaves

  • who taught you that ? black americans are the result of about 12% of the slave trade the majority of the slaves went to south america and the carribean.. but then you have to read about that to know it..

  • @chimarathon Most of the blacks that were shipped away from the West Coast of Africa ended in the U.S. But, the ones that landed in South America, especially in Brazil were those from Central and Southern Africa like Angola. That explains why the U.S. is for the most part pointed at when talking about slavery from the west coast of Africa like Ghana, Senegal, Nigeria, Cameroon, Guinea etc. I liked your reaction, though. it is smart.

  • Excellent news report. I visited Cape Coast last year, and it was a very difficult experience to see the actual dungeons, the scratches in the walls, the inhuman conditions, which ironically is set against a beautiful landscape.

  • I truly understand how she feels . Ghana is my home officialy I was born in America but upon my arrival I never felt such a peace a calm that came over me in Ghana, this is my paradise .

  • I like the part after this about haiti.
