I kinda agree with his main point about viva la vida, it was a case of 'self cunny' and the hype was mental, the album i thought was good, but not ground breaking, and having it rammed down your throat every hour by Radio 1 didn't help. Over played in the end, and rarely makes an appearance on my itunes playlist now because of that. Slipknot on the other hand, continually progressive with everything they do.

Pantera is groove metal my son. Iced Earth are good, but as I said, bands that mix power metal with other things tend to be better, and Iced Earth are power/thrash. But Dragonforce, and bands like them, man that is cheesy. I have nothing against the band or those who listen to it, but I'm just not fond of cheesy metal myself.

And I never claimed to be a "metalhead", I just happen to be someone who listens to a lot of black, folk, viking and death metal. I just can't stand Slipknot and the "maggots", and with good reason. Though I would like to know when having to listen to power metal was a condition for calling oneself a "metalhead". Besides bands that play a mix of power metal with something else, i.e. Children of Bodom (though the new stuff is bad), a lot of power metal is cheesy as hell.

Pantera is groove metal my son. Iced Earth are good, but as I said, bands that mix power metal with other things tend to be better, and Iced Earth are power/thrash. But Dragonforce, and bands like them, man that is cheesy. I have nothing against the band or those who listen to it, but I'm just not fond of cheesy metal myself.

1. I have have had the misfortune of listening to Slipknot, and they are no exception to the rule that nu-"metal" is horrid crap. Bands like Slipknot are to serious metal what books like Twilight are to serious literature.
2. I do happen to listen to death, heavy and thrash metal. Why you put power metal in there is beyond me though. Bloody cheesy compared to the other three genres.

Coldplay's earlier work was good, especially parachutes. However Slipknot have always been nothing more than mallcore kiddie crap for angst ridden teenagers who want to think they are into metal. The thing is, Coldplay is an easy target for Slipknot and their fans who want to act like they are tough, but are too scared to punch above their weight. Play these "maggots" some black metal and you will have them running scared.
