you are gettign the right notes .. very good... :D although i have to comment on your picking ... use your second and third finger because if u would want to play quicker in the future u wont be quick enough with just your thumb

i think its very good that you are using your fingers, as using the fingers to pluck the strings gives the sound a warmer tone. I think you got the song good enough not to do it with the song in the background.
