  • @zeelove8

    * to finish your quote with the asterisk was good. I'll see if I can add what you may have said or thought.

    * Poetry put to music, pure musical ecstasy, complex arrangement for complex listeners, brilliant art by brilliant people and finally: Too wonderful to be appreciated by most people in it's brilliance.

  • I wish I could have written music like this.

  • I can't stop listening to this.

  • Gotta love their bass lines if nothing else.

    Sonic arrangements? Near perfect.

Lyrics? Thought provoking, to say the least.

Pop music sensibilities? Ought to be apparent.

    Uniqueness? Unquestionable.

    Transcendent of musical genres?

    I think so.

  • What?

The bass line alone is worth the price of admission, not to mention the aerial guitars, the pop sensibilities, the unique vocals. All around relevant pop song which will be around for years.

  • Cuanta calidad musical...que nivel excelso de musica....que estilo...enorme banda...me fascinan!!!

  • i love it.

  • i love this song.

  • If they ever made afilm of the Mark Hollis or Talk Talk story, Tim Roth would have to play Mark Hollis. They are like twins! A great hugely underestimated band. Thank god for youtube, where we can watch and listen to their utter brilliance.

Millions of fans across the world love their music and their songs will always live in our hearts. Great music, excellent vocals, masterful songwriting. What more can you possibly ask for from any musical group? Their music is MUCH BETTER than most of the music being produced today! Talk Talk rocks!

  • @srch4you Well put.

  • @srch4you my friend your a god for speaking these thoughts

  • @srch4you

Great comment! I would even go so far as to say that their music is better than ALL music being made today.

  • Mark Hollis always sings like he means it. It's personal. It's real. It's emotional. And I love the guy for it. If only he was making music today...

  • incredible song and voice&super hot mark-i love youuuu :x:x:x

  • I always loved this song - so powerful and emotive. I'm 44 now and it hasn't lost it's power since when I first heard it at 20 way back in 1984!

  • robiąc użytek z płyty, torturuję swoją mamę Talk Talkiem.:) teraz będę sobie kręcić teledysk do Such a shame. :) tralalala

  • in da club - sample

  • This is truly one of my favourite fade-outs of any Talk Talk song! My 2 favourite bands are Simple Minds and Talk Talk.

  • I love the Talk Talk music from the early 80s. Which album is this song from?

  • just wonderful...

regarding the notion of talk talk as unclassifiable - i agree, although i do have a preference for talk talk and consider them comparable to roxy music....

  • mark hollis and his flabled voice !

  • Talk Talk, my favourite band of the 80's. Such a shame they quit.

  • Fuck EMI to hell for treating them the way they did. The stupid bastards had the goose with the golden egg and didn't even realise it. The law suits broke them up eventually.

  • after listening to several songs known as "New Wave" from the 80's and then listening to a cluster of "Talk Talk" I find myself feeling that they are something unique, unto themselves. Unclassifiable.

  • They're later stuff is definately experimental and is considered the forerunner to the Post Rock movement that bands like Tortoise and others are doing today.

  • I wonder wha tever happen to lee and paul after talk, talk broke up and what about simmon brenner-the orginial fourth member of the group?

  • Lee and Paul were in the band .O.rang after Talk Talk. They've been pretty quiet in recent years.

    No idea about Simon Brenner.

  • Thanks alot samrdar!

  • GENESIS and TALK TALK are the best!

  • omg talk talkstill blow away any of the modern band . when i first heard alk talk i thought wow .i did think about stopping mking music as i could never master a sound like that in the studio . clever guy mark hollis

  • so unbelievably underated

    there music was so original

  • God Talk Talk has to be one of the most underrated bands ever.

Come on people let's spread the faith and tell everybody that this musicians should be revered and back in the limelight.

  • Now, why should we let the current state of the music industry dictate how these guys would sound if we brought them into the limelight? Think about it. That's exactly why these guys were genius in my book. They did their own thing without giving a fuck what the record companies wanted!

  • The reason is - people need only hits and remember only hits.

By public's imho TalkTalk has only one hit - It's My Life.

  • @Penzaman Well thanks for the insult, I thought I was people too - I don't only need or remember hits, but I guess I don't count. Take your imbecilic philosophy elsewhere. Actually they had 3 really big hits not just one - Today, It's My Life and Life's What You Make It. Plus several more moderate hits. If It's My Life was the only big hit in the US, people outside that country couldn't give a shit about that - we remember what was happening in our own part of the world.

  • @jonahmj I totally agree with you, they're the most underrated band ever; they should come back with a vengeance!!!

  • @jonahmj don't I know it! Talk Talk one of my fave bands of ALL TIME! brilliant beyond....

  • @jonahmj i will

  • I didnt like this song so much the first time I heard it, but it really grows on you.

  • is fantastic, my favorite band!!

  • One Picasso

    One Rembrandt

    One Mozart

    Then there is Talk Talk

    Just the way I feel

  • agree

  • This band was slated to be a Duran Duran intro band in its early years, but quickly outstriped the former, which sold itself to the highest bidder. Every album I have of their's is stellar.

  • They were so great! Where are they now? :,-( Why do not they come back?!?!? :,-@

  • awesome!! i love Talk-talk!!

  • Great pics, Mark and Talk Talk FOREVER!!

  • Seems that at an early age, Mark Hollis took a peek in others and was shocked and intrigueged, even amused, but not paralyzed by what he saw. Lucky for us his reaction was his writing and performing.

  • should ave been a single one of my favourite songs of the its my life

  • his voice has somthing from peter gabriel ...

  • the synthisisers r just heaven to me . what a clean sound . studio time in the 80s was never a prob for any band of the 1980s . not like now a days . in the studio and right back out . the sound of the 80s was so refined by the engineers and producers . there would never be anything like it again . its all about the money now . shame realy

  • love this song . nice sounds of the roland jupiter 8 synth . god its such a nice sound . i think this is one of talk talks best trax . the production is just spot on well mixed also . much better than the bands of today thats for sure

  • Mark Hollis has such a haunting voice, like Stevie Nicks! I luv it!

  • Saw some missing spaces at 2:52. This is so fkn true. Actually Talk Talk left a big hole.

  • This song embodies every quality of Talk Talk which made me sort of addicted to them. They were not easy going common or consessed to the great audience and utterly selfdirected musicians: they didn't care a shit about opinions. These qualities added with the right amount of spirit was heaven for the limited number of die-hard Talk-Talk fan's(like me) They can be placed in the great hall of Yin-Yang's if there ever is one. Their musical/emotional balance was perfect in any way.

  • 53 years young? Is that all? C'mon Mark! Give us some more quality tunes!

  • I can't believe Mark Hollis(singer) is 53 years old! Where did the time go? They wrote very sophisticated pop back then. They should be canonized.

  • What a great song!!!! Damn...I miss the 80s..

  • love the Dodo/earth album cover : missing pieces, so true;

  • oh is my life, Talk Talk is amazing!!!

  • toorlooo thank you so much for taking the time to post all of there tunes, you dont know how much it means to me . You are a star toorlooo for doing all of this .Best band there ever was i my book .

  • i think they have done a great contribute for the best music ever made. Its a band of the 80's, so the sound goes forever and her job has complete.

  • ...starting at 3:17 on,truly one of the most impassioned fade-outs I've ever savored in a song!

  • BTW, djnross, I agree with you 100 percent!

  • stills,I think we should both breathe a felicitous sigh of relief that bands THIS GOOD did'nt come along a decade-and-a-half any later,to be tagged with twee labels like "Emo"!

  • Thank you, toorlooo...Talk Talk is part of my life...

  • just awsome !!!!

  • Happy birthday to Mr Mark Hollis for Friday 4th Jan.

  • Tomorrow i'll do a video to wish a happy birthday to Mark Hollis! It will be with "The Reaction" tracks and "300 Cubs" tacks. It will be a great megamix! I'll do others bonus videos... ;-)

  • Good idea!!!

  • Check my new vidoes

  • My birthday is the same as his. January 4th. I just felt like saying this useless tidbit.

  • Can we get you anything?

  • Not that I can think of.

  • He looks a little like Paul weller . Both beautiful skinny engl boys . Look at him with long hair .OOOOH!

  • First time I've heard this song. Of course, I knew about Talk Talk from their bigger hits way back then.

    This is HOT!

  • Does anyone out there have video of them doing this song live? I saw it once on You Tube but it was taken down.

  • Yes in f you want, i can upload it's you live from my DVDs. I can do a dvd rip.

  • Please upload it on You Tube! I saw it a while back then it was taken down. Thanks!

  • would you be so nice to upload new live versions of Talk Talk? I can't get enough of them!

  • I'll put the version of Salamanca 1986 and Dortumnd 1984^^

  • Love this song, the beginning of a great musical evolution and creation. The best band ever...

  • Agreed. If you're ever looking for another soul to support your assertion regarding the "best band ever", don't be afraid to tap my shoulder.

  • Yet another great song from this group! :D

  • Wow my favourite song from the Its My Life album surprised to see it posted here ......THANKS ALOT

  • Judicieux choix d'extrait du titre It's you, de l'album "It's my life" de Talk Talk (1984).

  • such an underrated one!

  • toorlooo--this is brilliant! Where did you get all these wonderful photos? For a band that placed little emphasis on image, they are very naturally photogenic. I love to see Mark smile.
