most gays don't get married. Only 5% of dutch gays get married and it has been a legal option there for 10 years. Only a tiny number of gay men will bother to get married because there is really no point. Most have open relationships or are single. Why would a man settle down with another man for the rest of his life when it is so tempting and so easy to get sex with other men whenever he wants.
So you want to base our legal protections on what the Dutch do? Please.

The storm is calling people with differing opinions names, demonizing those who oppose because you are not the majority, activism from the bench when the majoritty is not respected. Democracy people. When the powerful people start ignoring the vote I don't care what the issue is we all lose. If the vote doesn't count in a democracy what will we be left with? It's bigger than gay or straight! It's having a vote. You want to take away the majority vote because you can't win as a minority.
Our country is not based on mob rule. The constitution is the law and if the people want to make a law that contradicts the constitution that law is thrown out. Thats why we have the courts. When the constitution is ignored people are oppressed and sometimes killed. Look at history.

Str8's make a mockery out of marriage by having a divorce rate of around 60%, what are they protecting exactly? Str8 people don't know how to manage their own marriages, complain about it, make fun of their own, but when people that really love each other, want to get married, they want to deny that loving relationship from taking place.
