This show was a cartoon version of The Savage Dragon comic book created by Erik Larsen, one of the founding artists of Image Comics. During the mid nineties, Image Comics was created by some of the best known artists of Marvel comics such as Jim Lee, Rob Liefeld, Erik Larsen, etc. The Savage Dragon was actually not created by Erik Larsen, however. It was originally an old title from the 1950's I believe, that Larsen simply made his own.

Maybe your think of the golden age comic character Daredevil (not related to the Marvel character of the same name), who is in the public domain and has been a recurring character in the Savage Dragon comic series.

You know what's a disgrace? The comic ever since Jennifer Murphy entered. It's been a downward spiral ever since he killed off rapture and introduced Damien Darklord. I'm at the point where Dragon just finished rescuing She-Dragon after he took down Sebastian Kahn and I'm almost fed up, especially since Dragon is talking about Jennifer still. Not only that, but he's explaining the story over and over in dialogue between characters instead of as an intro to each issue. Gets monotonous.

You have to keep in mind:

A) This is 90's cartoon, so the animation is never going to be good by TODAY'S standards.

B) Since this is a cartoon for kids, voice actors didn't take their roles too seriously and acted silly (which most kids didn't mind or notice).

C) To re-iterate, this is a cartoon for KIDS. If it was made like the comic [i.e . bloody violence, scantly- clad women, language, adult situations, etc.{i own the comics, so i know}] this would have been shown on HBO, if not at all.

Why Savage Dragon and WildCATS weren't on HBO is a strange one since all 3 were from Image, why not all of them be on the same network? It's a strange one.

While i'll admit it is strange, SD and WC are action-adventure comics and, inspite of the violence and adult situations, have a light, fun tone when you read them. SPAWN, however, has a dark tone (i.e. satannism, really graphic violence, language). If they shown that show on that network -even late at night- it would have been yanked off quick. Its better on a different channel, fans would appricate it more like that.
