  • Great track and great performance.Could anybody tell me did Marianne Faithfull record this track. I seem to remember it from a concert she did in 1976 at the Macroom Mountain Dew Festival in Ireland and was 'surprised' to know Crystal Gayle recorded but great to find this track after all these years. Thanks for posting it!!!!

  • 'Shes like a speckled beagle under a brand new red wagon.' What? She is way prettier than any beagle!... Someone had some odd priorities....

  • ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL !

Both the woman and her Voice !

  • Crystal has a unique sounding voice. It is pure and effortless.

  • A song that is matched by a Crystal's beauty

  • Crystal has the voice that matches her beauty

  • I'd eat chips outa her knickers, si I would

  • I think I am on wrong road because I am here and watching again , but her beautiful voice nothing wrong. Oh yesssssss

  • Crystal is an ageless beauty. Seeing and hearing her at concerts today is just as thrilling as watching the beginning of her singing career in these great videos.

  • She's got poise, strength, charisma, talent and pure beauty! Crystal...I love you to death and beyond!

  • I believe this song was written by John Hartford

  • @lcar4000 Actually this song was written by Allen Reynolds. It was released in 1974 as a single and included in United Artists' album "Crystal Gayle" in 1975 . The song became Crystal's first Top Ten Hit rising to No. 6 on the charts.

John Hartford's music was primarily bluegrass and American folk featuring the banjo and fiddle.

  • @mrmikespence1964 jazz makes my ears bleed.

  • She should be in the Country Music Hall of Fame, she spent 2 full decades producing major country hits & with her crossover appeal she introduced a lot of people to Country Music.

  • It appears that the guy introducing Crystal had to look at his crib sheet at 0:04 to remember her name. Easy to understand though, she is perfectly mesmerizing in this video!!

  • wonderful singer, any genre.

on a side bar, embarrassing how the 60-70s men couldn't keep their tongue from hanging out of their mouths.

  • I Love and have LOVED this woman all my life . so far !

  • clone her

  • @garth187

Crystal is half Cherokee, half Irish. She doesn't look like her sister, Loretta at all lol...but I love her so; there's no one like her anywhere.

  • @sweetlife031 Actually there is quite a striking resemblance except Loretta's head is bigger so all the features are more broad- but the cheeks are a dead giveaway. Remember Loretta is 19 years older, but looking at them together it's easy to see a lot of similarities. Check out the nice vid of them doing 'Sparkling Look of Love', or the pics with their mom at an awards show...

  • Wonderful post.

  • One of your songs i will remember forever. A habit of rust. It is the way the music builds itself up. I find the song nowhere. I tried to tape it myself.

Maybe you do not like the song? That song is very special. Thanks

  • She's a lot prettier than a Speckel Beagle under a brand new red wagon. LOL

  • What's not to "Like"''''''''''

  • Crystal, is amazingly terrific....thanks for all the music!

  • i love you

  • Many thanks for this Crystal Gayle Track, now I put a face to the name with this song, thank you,Murray in Scotland

  • I love Crystal singing this song~~~

Beautiful face, body and voice and hair~~~

    thanks for sharing~~~

  • Bless her heart for being so lovely. One of my two favourite songs by Crystal.

  • Must have been very early in her career. I'm going to guess 1974. Her hair has reached all the way to the floor for many, many years. And look how young Ralph Emory looks on this edition of Pop Goes the Country! Really great clip!

  • I love, love this song~~~

    thanks for sharing~~~

    thank GOD for youtube.

  • She's pretty, and definitely has a beautiful voice. Oh, does anyone also notice she looks tired in this recording?

  • One of the most beautiful women in the world. And a great voice.

  • @desertbloom04. Crystal, Loretta and Peggy Sue are sisters. They also have a brother (Jay Lee Webb) who recorded in the 60s-70s. They are all 1/4 Cherokee from their mother's side.

  • Having met her in person - I can testify that she is a very sweet - "lady". Her personality matches her amazing talent.

  • I am so jealous lol

  • I always heard that she and Loretta Lynn are related somehow and that they are both part native american. Being a native myself, i can sure see it. Are they and if so what are their tribes?

  • the NEW country girl singers don't hold a candle to this voice!

God spent 1 entire day hand crafting this woman!

  • @jwdundon So right on!
