It's always nice to hear The NObs rockin IMTOD. I think they did this one better @ the O2, and overall this is an average show for 77. Y'all noobs should dig up some Destroyer. That's pretty good.
for some odd reaon jonseys bass has to much drive through 77-79 i hate it i like his old bass sound from 69-75 it was great should of changed.. robert adapted to his voice and jonsey should adapt his bass well should of
@brandontylerkaiser Jones began playing Alembic basses in 1977. Those were the new "state-of-the-art" bass guitars of that era, developed party by John Entwistle.
The Alembics were fitted with active pickups and onboard preamps that had advanced drive and blend controls. Jones had a standard 4 string, a 8 string, and a couple of others.
Jones played his Fender Jazz Bass up until 1975, which is quite different from the Alembic. He used Acoustic brand amps.
I agree with the thrust of this comment, however my ears are telling me Too Much Treble. Same with Entwhiste IMHO. I prefer the Fender P's and whatnot.
Ok hold it! I made that last comment in haste! I hadn't listened to the song before I tried to answer attanasio. He sure the heck does say oh georgina doesn't he?!
The 1977.04.30 show in Pontiac, Michigan (the one with 76228 people in attendance) was indeed proshot for video screens. This show was also supposed to have been recorded for the same purpose.
I enjoyed that long snare roll too. Bonzo was very good at doing some long crisp buzz rolls too. I've got a great live version of Since I've Been Loving You where his buzz rolls are very impressive. THX for posting this Zepman.
bonzo at 9. 37 is on fire

This kind of very mild, laid back show, (certainly not one of their best) shows us something:
On bad nights Bonzo ruled and on good nights he was out of this world.

msturn1975 3 years ago
It does sound like he says "oh georgina", but he is actually saying oh my Jesus, but it's all slurred together so it sounds like "ohmyjesus!"

robert wasnt comfortable playing IMTOD, after 75 at earls court, when he had that bad crash.

its obviously only audio or youd be watching gold right now.

This soundboard is supposed to be sourced from video that was recorded for stage screens.
Sanctimoniously 3 years ago
Yes, but still, where is the video footage? To my knoledge there is none.
Zepman2393 3 years ago
It's probably somewhere out there, just like the Pontiac footage.

Bonzo rocks during second slide solo. Esp. at 6:08. Great groove.
