  • wow this is cool for a very old cartoon.

  • Wow, I cannot describe the amount of laughter I emitted when I saw the cars being sneaked down the manhole. Funny stuff!

  • I remember a Scrappy cartoon where they go off on a spaceship..?

  • Thanks for posting this! My Grandfather was Dick Huemer (which he spelled Heumor), the creator of the Scrappy character. It's great to see this online!

  • Who is Oopie???

  • Wow, this is pretty fast cutting for 1931, at least based on what I've seen from that period. I didn't think anyone was doing stuff this fast then. It's not Tex Avery or anything, but it's still pretty brisk.

  • I wonder if Scrappy Doo from Scooby Doo was named after this? I NEVER SAW THIS SHOW. I WAS BORN IN 1981

  • I really like Scrappy's character.

  • Yeah but you don't know IF it is a "guy" OR A GIRL. The scene only shows 2 fist are flying toward the woman's face while @ 2:58 a gang of thugs beats a drunk so bad that he merges as a skeleton @ 3:02 & the thugs arms were more musclar than the two arms attatched to the fists pounding the woman.

  • yeah,i guess youre right,my bad

  • No problem!

  • @bigg3469

Gotta remember the definition of "scrappy". THe little guy who wins over the bigger guys because he's got the will. Because he's scrappy.

  • My dad talks about watchng this in his childhood... he's 59 Y.O.

  • Wow. Cartoons have certainly changed a great deal since then....

  • Wow. I had heard of Scrappy before, but this is the first cartoon of his I've actually seen. It's quite charming.

  • Yeah, it is, I like the design of the dog. Definitely one of the better 30s cartoons I've seen.

  • I grew-up on Scrappy & Krazy Kat cartoons. They won't re-broadcast them though, especially Scrappy (and his little brother,) because of their NOW inherent bad qualities: spitting on things, hitting, and race defilement.

  • I thought perhaps I was the only one who remembered Scrappy and Krazy Kat! I also grew up on these 1930's cartoons, although I was born in 1954, but I never thought I would ever see any of them again. This is a treat!

  • I had seen this cartoon too from the Rediffusion Broadcast in Hong Kong during the 60's. Thank you so much for bringing this back!

  • MY God!

    I haven'e seen this "Scrappy"movie cartoon

since WOR TV Ch.9 in NYC aired it on"Merrytoons

    Circus!"with Mr.Claude Kirchner.

  • I've sometimes heard of Scrappy, but until now have never seen this most elusive of cartoon "stars".

  • My god, I love "Scrappy"

  • Thanks a lot, I love these old fashioned rubber hose cartoons, can you post "Showing off" please? Thank you a bunch!
