Have you tried marshmallow fondant (MMF)? I really don't like Wilton's fondant either, but found a recipe for the MMF, and it tastes so much better, and I use nothing else now! GREAT cakes BTW!

I am looking to do a Kirby cake for my 7-yr-old's birthday this Sunday. Any suggestions? I enjoy decorating cakes & have some cake decorating tools from my mom (tips, bags, etc), but am no pro or anything. I have no idea how to make fondant or sculpt with it. I was thinking of making a half-kirby and just lay him flat face up. Do you have an pan suggestions?? thanks so much! You are truly gifted! From your videos, I really want to take a decorating class.

I didn't realise how good this was until my son looked at it and said wow - Kirby! Then he put super smash bros on and showed me who Kirby is. Excellent job (from both my son and I!!)

uber cute! ever try Satin Ice fondant? It's also Kosher...oddly... but it's not nearly as disgusting as the Wilton Fondant. Still.. Fondant isn't that much fun to eat, even when you make it yourself :-( What flavor is your cake? And happy birthday!!

I don't use traditional marshmallow fondant because of the gelatin. Wilton rolled fondant, which is certified kosher, I simply don't use on personal cakes because it's nasty.

I am with you on the taste of Wilton, which I generally steer away from if I have to cover a cake completely....ad then I go for the marshmallow, which tastes SOOO much better.
