  • These are the pirates we should be watching, not Pirates of the Caribbean!

  • 1:18 Looks like Captain Flint is glaring at the awesome lobsters.

  • A friend and myself had to create a documentary once for a digital imaging class, and we chose to make one about pirates. We used this as the opening song. :D

  • ONE M0:00RE TIME NOW!

  • I watch this all the fucking time, because it is the goddamn best pirate song out there, with a video so good it would make Kraken puke up its own intestants in jealousy of its sheer awesomeness. God fucking damnit is this the ultimate pirate music or what!?

  • well, he got two of them

  • Someone needs to go a fucking metal cover of this NOW

  • @Raptor086 Like that would make this masterpiece better ;p

  • Flint is the king of all evil pirates. If you do a version without puppet animals popping up everywhere, this would be an epic song!!

I like the "boonbewaka" part with the easter island head carvings.

  • @MattiasdagWestby Captain Flint was the parrot...

  • @Vehementi The actual captain was Long John Silver.

  • @Vehementi "Or start upright with the sharp voice of Captian Flint still ringing in my ears 'Peices of 8, peices of 8'".

  • @Vehementi Well, actually, Captain Flint was the pirate who buried the treasure in the first place, in this song he's played by Jim Curry.

However, after the opening song, Jim Curry plays Long John Silver - Captain Flint's quartermaster.

Long John Silver's parrot is also called Captain Flint.

Captain Flint (The captain) was mutinied after the treasure was buried, and Long John Silver took his place as captain.

  • @Vehementi I'm pretty sure you mean Tim Curry. Unless Jim Curry is his twin and you are implying that TIM Curry has simply been stealing all of his credit up to this point. Or that Tim was ORIGINALLY Jim and then changed his identity after a horrific, unmentionable incident involving a butler, a billiard room and three glasses of water. Wow, I think you need to lay off the conspiracy theories.

  • @BandNerd06Forever Tim Curry died ages ago, he was abducted by the greys and experimented on. They sent down an android replica called Jim to replace him.

The andriod is actually called JIM#356234 Prototype. Or Jim for short.

I jus' was thinking of the main character in Treasure Island. >_<

  • @Vehementi It all makes sense now.

  • Epic!!

  • This is pretty damn epic for a Muppets movie.

  • I used to be a pirate, but then I took grapeshot to the knee.

  • there was like 20 guys there and he had two one shot guns...

  • @UnwantedStudios3 Doubtful. Most captains at the time carried several loaded guns with them at all times since you couldn't reload in the middle of a battle. And there were like 6 or 7 guys.

  • @ThePierrekirbyfanboy There were 15, including the captain. ( it says so later in the movie)

  • @UnwantedStudios3,

He's Flint, goddamn it! He can do anything, and I'm pretty sure his sword skills are good enough to put the several others to rest. ;)

  • Alestorm needs to cover this song

  • @tyranidcarnifex556 Fuck yeah,a metal cover of this song would be epic!!!

  • this is my favourite movie.

  • who thinks pirates are still alive?

  • @89Animeknight2nd of course their alive, but most have gone digital to survive the claws of the ever shrinking world.

and you also have those Pirates in the less "civilized" parts of the world too.

  • hope to see them one day GeneralSturnn

  • @89Animeknight2nd go become a part of a shipping lane, travel around parts of the world where Government does not rule, I'm sure you'll find some.

  • it was a joke GeneralSturnn

  • @89Animeknight2nd I figured.

  • also GeneralSturnn check your inbox for a PM

  • I remember this video when I was a kid! This song used to scare the crap out of me

  • This song makes me want to loot and pillage.

  • Now THIS is how to start a movie. Thank you Hans Zimmer.

  • I have this video on VHS :D

  • I love this movie !!!!

  • wtf is that at 1:02?

  • @watcherguy7337 octopus

  • god darnit i just got hit with the biggest Nostalgia bomb, and with a HQ video too! Kudos good man. Kudos!

  • This song is just awesome! :D

  • Words cannot describe how cool this song is.

  • This song not only brings back memories, but still doesn't fail to creep me the *@#$ out. Good Lord I love this movie.

  • Hans Zimmer is the greatest

  • I looked this up after watching the NC's vid too, lol.

  • When you've got Hanz Zimmer doing the music, you just can't go wrong.

  • @Danthepest1

Hans Zimmer did this music?! I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN.

  • The Muppets are so badass in this movie.

    PLUS IT HAS TIM CURRY.

  • One of the best of all the Muppet movies!

  • I think Tom Waits could do a badass cover of this song.

  • @airnbobo Tom Waits could do a badass cover of anything.

  • @pooguy100 That is a very good point.

  • @airnbobo Yes yes a THOUSAND times yes! I'd just love to hear him do a bunch of villain song covers.

  • Oh! My childhood is calling!

  • I <3 this song

  • i loved this movie as a kid, still do as a matter of fact

  • 480p

holy crap the audio is amazing

  • Dead Men Tell No Tales!

  • Damn this audio is good.

  • Very Good!

I also like "Edward Teach Blackbeard demon of the sea" by Jolly Roger - very dark and realistic.

See also "secret of survival" by villain songs...

  • A Muppet's song that mentions pirates drowning themselves in rum, the devil and people getting shot at the end... awesome.

  • @venomey666 Thats what makes the muppets awsome, you know disney would never even dream of this!

  • @venomey666 oh wait i lied, pirates of the carribean but i dont really concider that a true disney film

  • @mohomadali Yeah, when comparing it to things like Snow White it's dark as shit.

  • the muppets and monty python (my dad showed me monty python) was were my childhood obsessions

  • I've watched both NC and Muppets Treasure Island. This is not the villan song, though it does not take away from the awesomeness. The true villan song of the movie is Prof. Pirate as sung by Time Curry.

  • @Pythonfreak88 You have a point there, but in fairness, this is somewhat like a Villian song, it's about Captain Flint who was supposdly the most evil pirate of the sea. But your point is well proven.

  • No ones ever to old for Muppets

  • Those skulls sounded awesome.

  • One of my favorite movies of all time. I love Treasure Island renditions.

  • I enjoyed the song but why swear in the description. Kermit would be dissappointed in you.

  • I just got this on dvd 2 days ago and when I started watching it, this song sent chills down my spine and I'm 21!

  • i can't get enough of this song

  • shiver my timers, shiver my bones!

  • oooooooooh FAB STUFF :D

  • Funny how if someone made a kid's film today where you have someone kill his crew in the opening, the moral guardians would have a field day. Kids aren't gonna be traumatized when they're shown a bit of reality every now and then, you know.

  • Uuugh possibly my favorite movie song of all time. EPIC.

  • The other pirates look like kids compared to how tall the Capt Flint is..

  • Classic, I love how this movie is kinda dark yet so funny. :D

  • YO-OH-HEAVE-HO! <3333 Childhood!

  • wth is that at 103? it looks like a giant gingerbread man! lol

  • Comment removed

  • @angelsinger211

are..... Are you refering to the tiki heads?

Or are you watching a different video???

  • @MovificationByChan no the octopus thing i thought it was a giant gingerbread man lol

  • @angelsinger211

Gottcha... Still don 't know what a giant Gingerbread man would be doing in the middle of a pond in a Pirate film, but I gottcha! ;)

  • BEST MUPPET SONG EVER!!!

  • Wow. um. Did anyone else just stumble across this and not remember the whole "kill your slaves so they can't tell anyone where the treasure is" vibe? YEESH, this was a kids show!

  • @catastrophuc same i had to i had only the sound and if i didn't had google i never knew this film was so dark

  • Oh man, I haven't seen this since I was very young, I view this so differently today than I did back then.

  • One more time now!

  • DAMN! The Muppets got dark!

  • love those big stone heads

  • Best film ever, got to mention Tim Curry.... completely made the film

  • Some may say that having a pirate kill two people with a headshot in the beginning of a movie is not a good way to start a kids movie. I say that's how you show he's a bad guy, moron. Good guys don't do that. Bad guys do. And GOOD bad guys definitely do it with that much style.

  • "Dead men tell no tales!"

    *BANG!*

That is how a GOOD MOVIE STARTS!

  • I fucking love this song !

    Awesome !

  • omg! old school XD i love this movie so much.!! and the music is very cool XD hans zimmer is the best!! XD

  • thank you Hanz for giving the 90's the best movie songs of all time

  • @z7h4q6iv93 I have starfish in my pants!

  • @z7h4q6iv93 ??????? this was specifically made not to be as dark as christmas carol

  • @z7h4q6iv93 This always seemed the most kiddie of the muppet movies to me.

  • @Leatherbubba; Fewer adult jokes /= most kiddie.

  • @PadraikKasier Maybe because the main character is a kid.

  • @Leatherbubba; Eh, possibly. But if I recall there were zero deaths in the other Muppet movies, even funny ones.

  • @PadraikKasier i though people died in the Muppet movies all the time

  • @goldenpizzaking; Died of boredom, maybe!

DOH HOH HOH HOH HOH HOH HOH!

  • @z7h4q6iv93 how realisitc can a bunch of puppets looking for buried treasure be? :P

  • @Jamesrowlandalston Watch to movie and see for yourself.

  • @z7h4q6iv93 I have watched the movie you know....it was meant to be a joke...

  • @z7h4q6iv93 what?

  • seriously...I know every single line to shiver my timbers in the link above..did a english drama class project on it back in HS....oh man.

  • Epic song for an Epic film

  • Dead Men Tell No Tales. CREEPY! AWESOME!!!!!

  • I love the Nostalgia Critic but how many people are here not because of him.

  • @stlouisrocker100 Love him2 bad i had this on VHS :D

  • @nightcrow90 I grew up with this movie. So I knew it long before I had even heard of him.

  • @stlouisrocker100 I love NC too, never remember him mentioning this though, can you remember what review he did it in?

I'm just here because Muppets Treasure Island is fucking amazing.

  • @ShinyNosepass His top 11 villain songs list.

  • @stlouisrocker100 Ahhh, cheers pal.

  • @stlouisrocker100

I'm here because I love this movie. o/

  • Well I loved how great this song was probably a few years before I saw NC, so I am

  • @monkeytoy123 Same here.

  • Let's face it. If you're gonna make fun of a great novel consisting of 21st century refs, a bizzare tropical song due to cabin fever and just throwing all the seriousness out to be replaced with a frog as a captain...Only fair to make the first song epic as hell

  • This brings me back 2 memories. A mixed with VeggieTales & the Nightmare Before Christmas. I actually never saw the Nightmare Before Christmas until i got older.

  • Its funny that Hans Zimmer did the non-song score work for this movie and later did the Pirates movies after the first one.

  • Damn, those guitars! One of the best opening title songs ever.

  • "SHIVER MY TIMBERS SHIVER MY SOUL YO HO-DE-HO!!"

    - basically my childhood back in the day.

  • I was stabbed at the end of this song...nice...gotta love jazz dance.

  • I love that guitar that kicks in around 0:47. This whole song kicks gratuitous amounts of ass.

  • its so funny, puppets singing abut greed and murder.. family movies today could never be this dark.

  • @Akirameerkat Sont forget the darkcrystal.

  • @Akirameerkat Probably the only good pirate movie I've ever seen. Don't even mention that trash "Pirates of the Carribean". Too much PC BS now days.

  • @PlaceBotox you and I have different tastes,

  • Very nice - thank you, ;)

  • Does anyone know where I can download this entire film free?

  • @TentacleXrapistXpope Why, Pirate Bay of course!

  • @TheAngryGazebo Ha, good one!

  • @TheAngryGazebo theres only one torrent and its broken :(

  • At 0:17, Those muppets, what are they supposed to be animal wise...?

  • @TheMrCaptainobvious Giant Bugs!

  • imagine how boring it must be as a skull

  • Alestorm, if any of you are watching this...

  • This is one of the rare pirate songs that can actually portray pirates for the Fiends of Hell they were and are, and yet still sound awesome in the process. And it's a muppets song!

  • look at crabs at 1:19

  • This 1 dislike is from guy, who escaped from Flint

  • when u think of the muppets u think of kermit and miss piggy, gonzo, gozzy, animal, beaker and benson, sesame street etc. here we get greed, lust drinking treachery and murder. and thats all within the first 3 mins of the movies. man the muppets had balls back then.

  • @jt808ful Dude the muppets have always been badass. They're way more mature than Sesame Street. Whenever kermit was on SS it was just as a guest.

  • This brings back so many memories the 90's are the best

  • Okay, two things here:

    A) The otters at 0:47 look EXACTLY like Pip and Pop from BEAR IN THE BIG BLUE HOUSE!

and B) I find it hilarious how the hermit crabs at 1:20 move their heads to the music once they're done singing.

  • And those buccaneers drown their sins in rum! the devil himself would have called em scum!

  • DEATH MEN TELL NO TALES! The music of this song it's just so Bloody fucking BOSS!

    The croco its super neat.

    drown the sins in rum!

  • Dis song!

  • WHO THE FUCK DISLIKED THIS ? i like the croco :>

  • *shiver my timber shiver my sail dead men tell no tails bang* holy shit i think i just jizzed

  • You know it's weird, but if you were to take out all the muppets for this song and replaced them with people, ghosts, skeletons, Johnny Depp, Chuck Norris, savage natives, and a gigantic naval fight in the background between the entire British Navy and the Queen Anne's Revenge, I doubt you would make this song any more epic than it already is.

  • The skulls singing at different times together should just sound shit.

    But it dosent.

    Its epic.

The Muppets are like God :D

  • My interpretation: Flint had a few of the men on his side, and they killed the ones he couldn't. They finished burying the treasure, and when they got back on the ship, he shot them and threw them overboard. Don't know if that's what happened, but that's what I would do!

  • @XsaviorofthebrokenX The story goes that Flint went with 6 of his crew, buried the treasure, made the map and killed them all, returning to his crew/ship alone. Its never stated how he killed them though.

  • @Danthepest1 That was just my interpretation, it wasn't supposed to be based on real fact. I haven't actually read the book in years, so I guess I'm a little rusty on my pirate lore. Thanks for your input, though! :)
