Loved the movie in 91, and didn't mind too much about the inaccuracies, but I have to say these cut scenes were deservedly cut - they portray the band's members as free-wheeling' roustabouts. The Doors had a uniquely serious nature about them.
Oliver Stone didn't give a damn about fact vs fiction or continuity. This shows the other 3 Doors performing before Jim and Ray graduated...the band wasn't even put together unil after with Robby being the last member to join and here it shows them performing months before they even all knew each other. Movie was a piece of shit. Just like Ray Manzarek says....it's about Oliver Stone in leather pants...it's not about THE Doors.
I don´t like this Jim Morrison... Jim was happy, smart, obviously he loves the beer too, but Jim was more than beer and girls and drug... Jim was Life... Jim is life!
@Forgetthenight Well I think this shows a better Jim. A wittyy side of massive intelligence and a sense of humour, where he saysd "Thaths the dumbest name I ever heard". Only his charm could have worked there.
The movie as it is showed him as a pretentious soak. The Doors, especially Ray hated it as Jim was, as you said, a fun great guy and a good freind.
LOL Jim was hitting on that jock`s girl and then jim got up and start spinning the beer over everyone around him and they counld`nt do a thing to stop it incluing that assout jock who wanted to kick jim ass.JIM MORRISON KICKASS
The Doors used to cover Van Morrison's Gloria. You can even find a clip on youtube. I guess the scene is just showing the band at an early stage covering songs. Something that isn't really new to any musical group.
se supone q jim y ray inician con the doors no??? y por que estan tocando sin el??

As a piece of myth, the film is great
As a depiction of fact, it fails horrendously

I couldn't watch this to the end. It was so painful to see Jim portrayed in this manner. This is Oliver Stone's ego, it's all about him!

@Peacefrog35 i think it was suppose to be Rick and The Ravens playing, but I think Oliver thought it was better for it to be The Doors.
