To keep that "feel left shoulder working downward" tip from messing your swing up, do the following. Stand beside a mirror and get into your posture. Take a mental note of your spine angle. Make a shoulder turn. The key is to turn back while keeping the spine angle the same as at address. Your left shoulder will feel lower than usual. This guy should have told you to "keep your spine angle the same" as opposed to "feel left shoulder working downward."Idiot. He will mess your game up like that.

hes trying to tell you that if you get to the right positions on your takeaway it sets you up to come inside or on plane automatically on your downswing. coming over the top is usually from a bad position at the top of your backswing.
