orcas and dolphins belong in the sea swimming and being what they were born to be captivity, in a small watery cage is beyond cruel confinement ...and not very sage cetaceans have intelligence on a par or higher than man to be trapped in a marine park for them is a garbage can for entertainment tenerife should not depend on these glorious creatures let their incarceration end!!!! KLK
@karenfayekal What is cruel is to condemn these creatures as captured animals. As I said to someone else, not every animal can take care of itself and is better off in places like this, or does one need to remind you of what happened to Keiko? You know Keiko? Free Willy? It was let free and it died, because it beached itself. I love people like you who think every animal is suffering, just because they're in a zoo. It just shows how little people know.
@karenfayekal There's no proof that Keiko would have survived, had he not been captured, stop being so deluded. Aside from that, why is it that bad? Orcas and dolphins get daily excercise, get fed, are taken care of, so what is your big problem? Also, as you said yourself, it is even safer for them at this day and age where mankind is destroying the planet. Focus your energy on that, not on zoos who take care. Besides, were it not for zoos, a lot more species would be extinct. Think about that!
Most captive dolphins are confined in minuscule tanks containing chemically treated artificial seawater. Dolphins in a tank are severely restricted in using their highly developed sonar, which is one of the most damaging aspects of captivity. It is much like forcing a person to live in a hall of mirrors for the rest of their life - their image always bouncing back with no clear direction in sight.
@gally50 And not every dolphin would survive in the wild, due to illnesses, or being abandoned by its parents. Same goes for a lot of animals held "captive" in zoos. Maybe you need to learn that not every animal is held captive, but is taken care for in a zoo, where the same animal could otherwise not survive. In other words, in a lot of cases, animals are better off in a zoo where they're save from poachers, abusers, deforesters and whatnot and given a place of their own.

hi can any one help me with some onfo please. we have just booked to go to loro park through the travel agent. so is that it do we just show the tickets and then all the shows are free when you get in cos ive read that you have to pay per show is that true thanks
Were going to Tenerife in august n will be going to loro parque cud any one tell me if u av to pay to see the shows ive heard its 12 euro each for each show u want to see
@Stanfourfan hi i paid 44 eros per adult ticket through the travel agent could you please tell me if there is more than one ticket as i think that i may of bought the wrong one.thanks
we saw that last week, it was AMAZING!!! I LOVED it, thanks for reminding me how brilliant it was! I WONNA GO BACK TO LORO PARQUE!!! THX U FOR LORO PARQUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thx u for the vid!!
Just a little tip for those going to Tenerife. if u wanna go to both Loro Park and Junglepark, i would recomend u to go to Loro, becouse in Junglepark the birds are chained and some of the animals walk on concret. Don't get me wrong, it is a great park but i would recomend u to go to Jungle first so u don't get disappointed compared to Loro Park.
Sure, dolphins and other marine mammals are wonderful...that's exactly why you SHOULDN'T go to places like Sea World that exploit them for entertainment.
Do you know how they get them? They have to tear the baby dolphins away from their families... who have close family bonds like humans or elephants.
Sometimes the adults attack the boats to rescue the babies, and even die trying to stop the humans.
It's true; google it.
If you truly love dolphins, don't help support this kind of cruelty.
I've never been to Loro Parque, but I definitely want to go! I'm in the SeaWorld mainstream.
The dolphin show definitely has what I want to see! Bottlenosed Dolphins aren't given enough credit strength-wise; at SeaWorld, it seems as if they try to make the orcas seem more powerful, by including more foot-push behaviors in Believe rather than Blue Horizons. But at Tenerife, footpushes are the basis of the behaviors, which is cool to see!
going to loro park was the best thing i did all holiday!
i went up the mountain and went on an aeroplane for the first time ever and went in a submarine and it was still the best thing i did all year!! lol
the whale show was the best though, the dolphin show was good but the whales were beyond imagination, the videos are nothing compared to what it was like watching it in real life
Haha, all of you with the negative comments are really convinced you know everything. Unless you are currently employed at a place like this and see the animals every day, I don't think you really know what they're feeling.
ITS NOT CRUEL! coz when i went when the show was about to start like the dolphins could hear the croud they were exited and they were like showing off doin there flips before the show even started! They love it there trust me ! and any1 else who ahs been there will agree
Yeah, there is a training and observing facility somewhere in the virgin islands employed by the navy, in which the dolphins are free to leave when they please, but they CHOOSE to stay. Dolphins actually enjoy human company.
i strongly agree. we've just come back from Tenerife & we went 2 the Loro Parque twice it was that gud. best thing is, 2nd trip there, we did the discovery tour & i can tell from 1st hand experience just how much those magnificeint creatures enjoyed themselves. the whole of loro parque was a fantastic experience!!!
i went last year and i went to loro pquare and i saw the dolphin show i really liked it it felt like it was only 1 minit it was tha good! i also really enjoiyed the killer whale show! p.p ellie x
This is cruel! These dolphins live only a few years due to capitivity, poor conditions while suffering extreme stress. Take a trip on a boat for a natural and more humane way of seeing them in action.
I agree here, Dolphines are smart, but they should be used for Entertainment to us, we wouldn't like it if we were caught and trained up just to be watched day in day out and getting nothing out of it!
yeahh the only reason you have 2 pay is because some little girl got ill and that lil irl was me i went to that park and swam with them dolphins and my lil heart nearly exploded because ov those dolphins ! soo i got it free and recomend it 2 just be carefull okkies
@ALIBOUZAS Si, qeria comprar a la familia del chico que murio porque lo ahogo la orca con un chalet y pasta pa que no lo denuncien y dejen de investigar que paso, es todo un genio ;)

keiko would not have been is his sad predicament had he not been corralled and captured for man's amusement.
for those cetaceans who cannot be succesfully released into the wild, sanctuaries should be created
as far as zoos, sadly they are at time the only place animals are safe from man...in manmade cages
complex, tragic...

@callumtabs The orca ocean is 12 meters deep, so I presume the dolphin tank would be of similar depth.
