  • Thank you so much for this cheap and easy tutorial! I am going to make two of these for my daughter and niece. I am making their Christmas outfits!

  • Many thanks for the tutorial. Great job!

  • Yay! n_n we do it

  • I love you... You r my idol

  • I love you... You r my idol... :)

  • This is awesome soooo cool!!! I'm going to make this but I'm going to put glitter a lot of shiny stuff for NEW YEARS

  • i LOVE This Diy! i'm so excitied to try it,but i have 2 questions:

1st: is the Styrofoam cup sturdy enough,to wear (like 2 or 3 times a week)?

2nd: if not, what do you recomed in its place?

  • that was SO creative! (: HUGE PROPS!

  • great job

  • Coolio

  • i wanted to watch the whole video again to count, how often you say "kind of". then i realized that i´m not a pathetic looser, so, good job :)

  • YOU FOAM WASTING TOMFOOLER.

  • I'm definitely going to make this for my sons first birthday hat! It will go great with our circus theme

  • What if you don't have a hot glue gun. What should we use?

  • @lolsmile1 buy one. they're really cheap and you can pick them up almost anywhere. i got mine at target, but you can get them at wallmartt, fred meyer or pretty much any grocery store. :) if for some reason you live in the boonies them try online lol they're completely worth the money i use mine al the time

  • @lolsmile1 you can buy one at most dollar stores. They're cheap but they should do the trick. I bought one a few years ago from my local dollar store and it's still working well. They are also sold at most craft stores for cheap. Hope this helps.

  • i used this to create a mini top hat myself, im going to oni-con (Oct. 28th) im gonna go as Peter Rabbit female loli-goth version and it came out AWESOME :DDDD i used the felt fabric and it works just fine. I know i will be making more hats in the future~ Cant wait to make my own white rabbit ears headband and attach the hat <3

  • "Hello! I'm a cup!" :) Love it! Thanks for the tutorial, very crafty tip with the styrofoam cup.

  • lol "hello ! im a cup :D"

  • Thank you this is helpful :)

  • muito bom

  • i made a hat with bunny ears for my sis

  • Thank you so much for sharing this, im having a mad hatter/wonderland babyshower and these would be perfect and cheap to make! Thanks again <3

  • @TrailerParkPrincesss that sounds so cool :D

  • I really enjoyed this! I wish Halloween was closer! But, I don't have a styrofoam cup, black foam stuff or a hot glue gun. Kinda disappointing. :(

  • Awasome job! ^^ thnax 4 sharing!

  • I like the idea, but the video execution was less than favorable, sorry. =(

Also, it's bothering me that you can see a lot of the hot glue lines around the edges. It might be fine for a costume, but I'll be making for everyday wear and I don't want to have the glue seams showing... any thoughts on this?

  • I can't do this. For some reason, I can't stand working with styrofoam, it makes my ears and teeth ache o.o I'm such a freakshow.

  • @BuildDestruction im the same way D:

  • @HolyEmoCuppyCake Yay for people who can't cut styrofoam!

  • i just made a mini top hat using this how-to and a styrofoam cup. Seriously, it's adorable. I painted it and I think it looks so cute. Thank you so much. <3

  • this is awesome!!!

  • Use a elastic string and have it go under your chin

  • imma painting mine lol

  • hello imma cup xD

  • so cute, great idea!

  • the problem is i dont have a glue gun!!!

    I say

  • ''Hello! ... Imma cup!''

  • where can you buy the foam at?

  • @skorchcommander

AC Moores, Michaels, n e craft store :]

  • You could even glue it on a head band!!!!

  • i just discovered you and i have to say you are amazing!! i would really love to see you do a medusa look, and judging by how successful you were with this hat, im particularly excited to see your medusa headpeice!!

  • i just discovered you and i have to say you are amazing!! i would really love to see you do a medusa look, and judging by how successful you were with this hat, im particularly excited to see your medusa headpeice!!

  • You can also glue that hat to a head band...

  • Very nice tutorial! I actually found sheets of felt at Michaels that has an adhesive backing on one side that made covering the hat stack much easier. But this was incredibly creative, I would have never though of using a Styrofoam cup! :3

  • I burnt my hand on a hot glue gun yesterday..

  • Holy shit. This was amazing!!

  • grl u r sooo freaking talented !!i swear ur the best on fb!i dont care what anyone says

  • This is horrible! This IS NOT EASY! It took us 3 hours and it looks like SHIT!

  • THAT WAS SUCH A GOOD VIDEO>>>>WOW THAT HAT WAS SO CUTE,beats spending 20 dollars thank you!!!

  • Instead of a plastic cup, I usually use a cardboard structue, but the cup is a quick and simple way! Thanks!

  • haha I always wondeed what that 10/6 was...irs his hat size... I feel dumb now haha

  • @mellowjan4 Actually it's not the hat size C:

Lewis Carroll has explained the meaning of the tag in his 'Nursery Alice':

The Hatter used to carry about hats to sell: and even the one that he's got on his head is meant to be sold. You see it's got its price marked on it - a "10" and a "6" - that means "ten shillings and sixpence."

  • This is too cute. Love it. Tfs

  • thank u thnk u i didnt wanna buy one for 20 lol yay

  • I like how this is longer than the actual makeup tutorial(:

great job! I love your videos(:

  • you warned me to late and i cut myself with a knife... it was awesome!

  • gluing it to headband work well to!

  • I love this! The Styrofoam cup is the best idea ever! I am so doing that.

  • "hello im a cup" lolz!

  • somebody give me ideas for colors and designs. I'm bad with that kind of stuff. but I do know how to make this now (thanks goldiestarling)

I don't know what to make it look pretty @_@

  • @tnuoccaeht recommend ribbon and lace

  • @tnuoccaeht i usually like to put lace on hats like to come out from the edge you can get that at walmart and feathers are nice or a simple flower on the side of a hat is really cute. colours that make good hats are red and black, purple and black. anything with black really makes a nice hat. or a ribbon along the edge or a bow. those are just a few suggestions just search top hats and you can find a whole bunch of ideas from other photos.

  • can u use fabric???

  • Hello! I'm a cup!

  • this is really good

  • how much is an exacto knife and where would you get them? I use them all the time in art class but i never really thought to ask where my teacher gets them.

  • @lovesick15firehazard Any arts store, walmart, hard ware stores should have a version of it, but you can get a decent one at an arts store. they are usually smaller and allow a bit more presision.

  • You say 'kinda' a lot, but it made the video even better, Great hat BTW I must try this.

  • where do you get the black foam from???

  • I subscribed! You're amazing.

  • Where do you buy the black foam, because I don't want to go to random craft stores that don't have any. I want to make loads of these! Also , can you you use just regular plastic cups, becuase they are WAAAAAYYYY easier to cut since I don't have the exacto knife ( if I spelt that right) ?Thanks

  • @fashionbug9880 the foam is a cup and i used sissors instead

  • i love this and me and my friends what to make some but where did you buy your foam cause i can find it ANYWHERE!

  • This is great! I love all your tutorials! I think it would be nice for it to stay on your head to get a orange head band and glue to hat to stay on. Question where do you buy the foam?

  • cute craft. :D I'm going to go & make one.

    thank you for the tutorial!

  • what a good idea! a stylofoamcup! i've been wanting to make a tophat for a long time but never thought of that! thanks for the idea! I love the hat!

  • how do you make those things stand on your head 0.o i want to make one xD

  • i glued it to a headband : ) you could also try gluing it to hair clips

  • do you know by any chance how to make a mini Bowler Hat? please reply =D

    thanx +D

  • @goldiestarling You can also use a little rubber band or something like that.

  • @goldiestarling yea thats wat im gonna do (the head-band thinggg)

  • @goldiestarling hi, question. how exactly did you get it to stay to a headband? I made a mini top hat last year and wanted it on a headband but couldn't get it to work :/ I ended up attaching ribbon to it, but my hot glue wouldn't stick to the headband.

  • @Vampirelove300 you could also try cutting little slits on the sides of the bottom of the hat, and pull a ribbon through there, and tie it around you head. That's what me and my friend did. :3

  • Cute hat, and awesome tutorial!! :)

  • i love this!! and all of your videos. im in shock with your talent!

  • i love this hat tutorial, i mean they are pretty basic to make, but ive watched this one a few times, i just like seeing you make it XD

  • Your so creative :)

  • xD the cup talked!! :)

  • Love this! I work at Jo-ann's, and just as a lil FYI there's a glue called "Foam Glue" and it's really the only wet glue that works on that fun foam. Elmers and such just slides around (as you learned haha)

I'm so excited to try this! =D

  • did you know that in the original story the mad hatter was 12/6 and disney used 10!!!! ?
