  • They say they dont have much water. Would it be possible to have a extremeley long hose leading to the space station and that would help?

  • wouldnt the earths gravity have some affect...or no ???

  • The ISS is not 225000 miles above the Earth, The moon is about 250000 miles away. Thios wouls mean the ISS is closer to the moon than the Earth. IT IS NOT !!! The ISS is in low earth orbit. I wish these so called experts creating this video would get their facts straight and not mislead simpletons with these moronic statements

  • 4:16 a drop of water flies on the upper left LOL

  • I lol'd when he began to brush his teeth xd

  • 3 .30 guy at the back

  • i ve a question if theres no air in space and you go out to fix a broken sattalite or somten then thered be no air in the ship how you breathing without a suit

  • @MrNike6081 they pump oxygen into the ship?

  • @MrNike6081 With spacesuits? There are oxygen canisters on spacesuits. Why wouldn't they use them?

  • Colgate smile!

  • did any one else see the drop of water float away

  • 1:56 the greatest part

  • this is funny i want fly like them 2

  • This video is hilarious...hahahaha..lmfao..love it..

  • Ewww...They must stink!

  • For some reason I like the way he says "Bye".

  • I just watched a man brush his teeth

  • ah, to use a vaporizer in space...

  • How to shit in space?

  • i am fucking proud of you.

i can`t imagine how it feels like living in space.

  • thats gross.. everyones gotta stick their cock in that tube?? .. pissin n spashin all over... im staying on the ground.

  • is there wifi in space ?

  • @BlackOrBeat ummm no?

  • Favorite segment so far. Guy is very engaging and the background music is really cool.

  • @7:14 "Hello everybody....here I am....exercising again" L...O...L

  • 1:44 He tilts the bag so that the water would come out . . . what's the point? There's no gravity!

  • @wassup986 You know when you have quite some speed and u turn your car to the left or right? you are pushed in the opposide dirrection.. same thing with the water.. and it happens even if there is no gravity.

Another exemple is when you try to catch an object that is in the water, with a big net. :P hope that made you understand.

  • @googlelover91 Yes, but why can't he just jerk it forward and back once real quick to get the water out? He tilts, as though he's trying to pour something out.

  • @wassup986 Hmmm.. maybe he doesn't want water to jump around all over the place? :D

  • @googlelover91 LOL ok xD

  • @googlelover91 he is using centifugal or centripedal force, he is creating gravity whit his arms

  • y is this space station analog type? it should be all digital and cool stuff

  • how come ur not flying

  • i like this guy

  • there is water floating around everywhere T.T

  • best comericial of colgate

  • if you give birth to a baby in space, which nationality will the baby posses

  • @mehmetursan The nationality of the parents, I assume. But what if the parents are of two different nationalities, which nationality would the baby possess?

  • @mehmetursan spacetopia...

  • @mehmetursan that is a stupid quetsion sikenaw but it really is

  • @mehmetursan Or maybe wherever you touchdown on first. if you give birth to the child in space and land in russia maybe the child would be counted as a russian.

  • @mehmetursan

    Nationality: Low Geosynchronous Orbit.

  • Colgate 4 Life <3 :D

  • i just wondering can you have sex in space? the thing is i cant stand one day without thinking about sex haha !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 6 dislike people dont have home to life in..............

  • when is night and when is day????

  • question: how do we masterbate? :S

  • Night?

  • but will it blend?

  • THIS IS SO AWESOME AND THE GUY'S VOICE IS AN ADDED BONUS LOL

  • FLOATING WATER IS COOL!!!!!!

  • they are missing the watter in the earth :), i wonder how they do wank there ?

  • Forget using the bungee cords for exercise. Make a giant zero gravity slingshot!

  • COULD AN AIRLINE PILOT FROM CZECH REPUBLIC BECOME AN NASA OR ESA ASTRONAUT?

  • @HumanToMars i dont see why not, why not try! :)

  • Amazing video.

  • Awesome demo of "normal" routines!

Also great is mention of UNICEF foundation and the importance of clean water to developing nations. How appropriate that scientists ---people committed to discovery, learning, truth--- are also committed to noble causes that help all humanity.

  • Lucky people.. i would love to live on the iss

  • I bet they feel so heavy when they return to Earth

  • @SamsStation LOL I feel heavy after just 3 hours in the sea. When I walk out of the sea onto the beach I feel like I'm twice my weight. Imagine being in zero gravity for a week. You would feel like you weigh a ton when you're back to earth.

  • 1:26 head and shoulder ?!

  • Everything is peaceful until somebody farts. Then the madness begins!

  • so why sont you add a dampener inderneath that exercising equiptment?

  • daaaamn water is realy a problem there

  • Why clean the toothbrush? It's not very safe. Why just not get a new one everytime? they are'nt really that expensive really xD

  • @cappermeh hope your jokeing haha

  • There is not much happening in the video... but the guy is sympathic and its sooo interesting anyway.

  • <3 <3 Frank de WInne <3 <3

  • The reson why he has an accent is because he is russian duh -_-

  • @SteelDuke4202 He is from belgium

  • id love to go there.... but i think id go mad eating and washin

  • Water is so amazing, the fact it's polar is the reason it's so useful, lucky it's the 2nd most abundant molecule in the universe.

  • 5 year old kids in Flanders have less of an accent. Like I said, it has nothing to do with his capabilities as a scientist or astronaut, but I'm simply amazed how every serious well known person from flanders seems to fail at speaking decent english. eg. the new european president

  • @Smossy007 Frank speaks several languages, and I think his english is quite good. He speaks it better than half of America.

  • woooooooow just wow so interesting

  • Hi Frank,

Congratulations on your tenure as ISS commander and good luck for your return trip to Earth in the Soyuz! I hope you won't find it too cold in Kazakhstan when you land.

I have just one question - how do you put up with the bad tempered and bossy Jeff Williams who seems to have bullied you into giving up your command earlier than expected. He plays Mr Nice Guy but the NASA videos show him to be Mr Grumpy.

    Go Frank :-)

    Kind regards,

    Ruben.

  • We cant use water to SPOEL out mouth Lol

  • Great video: Science is wonderful.

  • @Dwicker64 Science is but a perversion of itself unless it has, as its ultimate goal the betterment of humanity

  • Colgate , oh yeah! That should advertised.

  • I wonder if these guys ever get wasted in space.

  • They should bring a bow flex like workout machine on the station.

  • How do they stop their sweatdrops from not going in to their electricity devices when they exercise ?

  • I would imagine simply regularly patting themselves down with a towel.

  • Sweat in space actually forms as a layer of liquid on the skin. With no gravity to pull beads of it down it just stays on the skin as a thin layer.

  • Doesn't seem likely. Cohesion and surface tension would make sweat bead as surely as it does with gravity. Liquids still bead on the top of surfaces, so the lack of gravity in space wouldn't prevent beading.

  • True enough. Surface tension does cause it to gather and eventually form a "Blob" which will break up. But you need a lot of sweat for this to happen. And they do usually dab themselves with towels. I Watched a programme on BBC 4 about living in space and they talked about it on there.

  • Wow. Just doing every day tasks is amazing in space.

  • what's masturbation like on space? guess you have to be really careful eh?

  • I guess you do it into the towel.

  • Wah that neck boy, grandma coimg to visit :D.

Truly amazing, Really hope the effeorts made in space will payoff in the longer run.

  • So if they lift weights (resistance rubber bands or compressed gas) and stuff it gets transferred to the structure and is bad for it? WOW, I never thought of that. You would think it would be strong enough to easily withstand the force a human being can create.

  • I don't think he meant bad for the structure. More like it's bad for the balance of the craft and the orbit. And for the experients. It's like when you sit on an office chair and lift you feet from the ground. If you then start turning and moving your body, the chair will respond. It will get disturbed. That is what he meant, I think:) The station itself I'm sure can withstand the forces of a human being, structurally...

  • Yes. Any force on the structure of the ISS effects its position. If he was to push as hard as he could he would actually push the ISS out of position quite easily. Not by much but a needless amount.

  • Rations of hygiene products is alright but so little water seems like it sux. :| It takes me 35 minutes to shower because of how oily my skin is. I can't even imagine living on the ISS like that. Can't they send a space shuttle carrying a module that can hold and maintain temperature of 40,000 gallons of fresh water? or how about 70,000 gallons of filtered seawater just for cleaning. :|

  • Oh-my-GOB that guy is ADORABLE!

  • how about showing (and explaining) what they do up there for science, rather than show the most trivial things such as brushing your teeth??? geee....

  • Because that's interesting too

  • How much energy does it take to prevent their water from freezing?

  • At 3:54 he says "we just use water to errrr spoel our mouths" haha. I'm not criticizing though. His english is better than my dutch.

  • I noticed that too. In dutch "spoel" or "spoelen" means "rinse"

  • OMG was that the C.O.L.B.E.R.T. in action at the end?

  • Looks like SO MUCH FUN, but also looks like a PAIN to do simple activities.

  • He said it's dangerous to have water float away because of all the electricity on the ISS....yet, multiple times, 2:55, 3:07, 3:15, you can see droplets that he let escape drifting around...lol. oops!

  • haha

  • Well if the station comes crashing down soon we have a suspect.

  • I really wanted to know how they go number one and number two on board the ISS. I wish he would have described how it's done

  • For those of you wondering, those Japanese characters mean "hope."

  • thanks, I WAS wondering.

  • Trolls don't get epic replies.

  • Continue believing your crap.

    Mankind will advance without you.

  • For the last part of your comment. He is exercising. There are elastics pulling him to the ground.

  • Sorry after a second watch it seems to be a pulley system.

  • ... please... for real broseph?

  • good video

  • oh man....he didn't show the shit coming down his ass

  • I always wanted to open a bag of Ruffles and pull a Homer Simpson maneuver .

  • how long do they stay up there for at a time?

  • The hygiene part reminded me my military camps...wake up -> a handful of water from the dense morning grass -> over the face and kinda done with the washing... :)

  • ...but we still don't know how they shit in space !

  • I wish to go there one day, before I die.

  • water in microgravity is brilliant :D!

If I ever go to space, 50% of my time will be dedicated to playing with waterbubbles. 30% of my time will be trying to make an object stay fixed in midair. 19% of my time will be freaking out of poop chasing me throug the bathroom, and 1% of my time will be eating. (playing with water and eating should be possible to do at the same time. :D)

  • Most of my time would be dedicated to do barrel roll :D

  • 6:14 "...clean drinking water so that they have a nice future."

  • Lol, did you see all the water bubbles floating away from him?

  • love it. hopefully it will be more likely that the average joe can afford to go in 30-40 years.

    fingers crossed.

  • That actually looks really cool.

    I wish I could go! ;o;

  • I hate micro gravity, I can't even take a decent shower.... :/

  • fooking noisy in there.... how do they sleep??

  • Wow! I totally use too much toothpaste. I'll have to start conserving. :-)

This was a very informative video.

  • sounds like a friendly guy

  • Is it just me, or does the ISS look kinda... flimsy?

  • Well it is a government operation remember :)

  • Great! Despite all those difficulties, I would be willing to go there in a heartbeat.

  • Bloody brilliant... More of that please...

  • Catching the water droplets with the toothbrush was amazing. No idea why I liked it so much, but it's brilliant.

  • The intro is overdoing it, I think. Science is amazing enough without visible hype in the form of flashy logos.

  • Not for people who have no interest of science. Sad but true.

  • Awsome 5/5. I want to be up there one day

  • taking a piss in zero grav must be fun

  • Cause of the suction of the machine do you mean?

  • Primero!!! Cool man!
