I agree that we shouldn't kill insects. I think PeTA did this mostly for attention, though. I'm not sure whether it was a good move on their part or not... I agree that he shouldn't have done it, though. While I'm not as concerned about insects as I am about cattle, pigs, cats, dogs, etc. I still think it shows a lack of consideration to kill them. People are better off learning patience, trapping them and moving them outdoors or whatever if necessary....

While I think insects probably have at least some of these things as well, it's definitely a question of degree, and again while I take their needs into consideration in my own life, and ask others to do the same, I think we need to worry more about the cattle, pigs, etc. right now. :S

I actually agree with PETA. It's not about the fly. It's really just about not killing unnecessarily. Period. Respect all life, as even the smallest living things are important for our survival. Once inside the put them down the burn the bodies at a location only known to top PETA members. They do this because they think domestic animals are unable to be released in the wild. In Washington they found the remains of 600+ dogs and cats in an abandoned factory. A division of PETA in Spain released hundreds of minx into the countryside and nearly destroied the local wildlife

I actually agree with PETA. It's not about the fly. It's really just about not killing unnecessarily. Period. Respect all life, as even the smallest living things are important for our survival. It's called the ecosystem. But I will admit that PETA is hypocritical. They do euthanize a higher percentage of their rescued animals than the ASPCA does.

@FM897 It's worse than that, PETA has actively opposed the idea of no kill shelters and supports BSL, or Breed Specific Legislation among other problems. I love animals but the more I learn about PETA the more I dislike them, I'm starting to consider them a threat to animal welfare. The BSL especially is unforgivable.
If they don't get rid of Ingrid Newkirk and find a new direction, and fast, they won't have a reputation to save before long. That woman is insane.

Once inside the put them down the burn the bodies at a location only known to top PETA members. They do this because they think domestic animals are unable to be released in the wild. In Washington they found the remains of 600+ dogs and cats in an abandoned factory. A division of PETA in Spain released hundreds of minx into the countryside and nearly destroied the local wildlife
