What I loved about the first, was that Steve Martin didn't try to imitate Peter Sellers, he did his OWN Closeau, and that made it work. And his hilarious partnership with Jean Reno, Ponton was based on Hercule Lajoy from "A shot in the dark". I can't wait for this movie. I wish people would stop comparing it to the old ones. Sure, I love the old ones, have em all on dvd. But this is also damn funny!
