You're theory about americans somehow freeing us is wrong. That's sound like russians telling us, that they brought us culture and freedom. The Sad thruth is, that america watched quietly along the rest of the world, when Russia occupied the Baltics along most of eastern Europe.

Everybody watched as russia occupied the Baltic states.. but later America put on pressure to free them. But you cannot give credit for that only for what they did not do before... as If America should bail out every weak country that gets into trouble with Fascists?

There was little pressure to free eastern Europe from any country, it was the cold war then. Soviet Union collapsed because Jeltsin and Gorbachev did few reforms (for example putting together university students in summer) which concluded in them talking to eachother and having their own ideas, which was exactly the opposite of governments ideas. And Gorbachev gave green light for dialogue with specially USA, not the other way.

Ever heard of Molotov-Ribbentrop pact? The "non-agression" pact between nazi-Germany and communist-Russia. A part of it basically gave russia almost half of Europe and USA just watched as it happened. And we were freed after collapse of the Soviet Union (that's a long story why and how it happened, but thanks to Gorbachev!). USA wasn't quick to acknowledge our country.

Regarding why should USA do anything - because you CAN do everything. I'm shure you have been following Iraq war. USA wasn't never gonna drop planning the "second gulf war" and everyone else (U.K , Spain aso.) knew, that it's way better to get involved than not to. And they knew there was no solid evidence of weapons of mass destruction. USA is claimed to be only super-country and seeing as you are bringing democracy (?) to Iraq, why are everyone else not worth it?
