I agree, I am tired of hearing some Trek actors whine about being typecast. Get out there & get working. Fight for roles. You have to be inventive & willing to try something new & maybe a little out of your comfort zone. Kate Mulgrew, like she said, had been acting for 30 year. For other actors they may really have to stretch their acting wings. For instance, Patrick Stewart, mostly a stage actor, did Jeffrey. What is more opposite Picard than that a game man running around in pink shorts?

as i kept watching and the 'role model' question came up i started to cry. Captain Janeway was, and still is, my role model, my idol, and i've always wanted to meet Kate Mulgrew. i'm hoping i'll get that chance in my lifetime. that character molded me into something i could never have achieved without Kate Mulgrew.
